Recommendations for cheap(ish) winter road bike

Any recommendations for a winter road bike ?
Was thinking of getting a yoke in Halfords but as I'm 6'1" think frames probably a bit small

With that budget I'd be buying a used bike from adverts/donedeal, you'll get a bike worth close to twice that easily.

At around your price point I reckon you won't beat this bike for spec.

The Ribble bikes are great value and they include some very nice mudguards. The only drawback in my eyes is the tyre clearance: max 23 mm with the supplied mudguards. This may not be a problem for you, but I much prefer the ride of 25 mm tyres, especially in wet conditions.
