I think most of my time will be fishing for a shiny after reading this.

A fishing chain is catching a Pokemon every time without getting "Not even a nibble" or moving from your spot. Unlike Pokeradar chaining, you don't need to find the same Pokemon every time and you don't need to defeat it, you can run away from every battle

the guy in the fishing shack on route 16 says "This is just a rumor, but word is that you can catch some rare Pokemon through consecutive fishing!". So, I devised an experiment to try and figure out exactly what he meant. I got a Pokemon with Suction Cups and put it at the head of my party (if you didn't know, the Suction Cups ability increases the chance of finding things while fishing), found the perfect spot to fish that matched his previous advice (south of Ambrette Town, in front of the rock that prevents you from surfing any further), and began my fishing streak. Everything seemed normal until I hit streak 37. Shiny Dragalge. Cool! But, I didn't think it was necessarily connected to anything. I ended my streak to go check on my new shiny in my PC, and then head back to fishing again.

Spending most of my time in the Battle Maison now in the post-game. The AI is much more savvy than in the Battle Subway! Using a team of Gengar, Garchomp, and Azumarill. Working pretty well so far anyway.

I put mine in deposit with the caption SPA, ITA or JPN pls. Took about an hour. (Had to do it twice though, first time I got an english ditto with a french name...)

Was a lot easier than searching for dittos because dittos go fast, even for other dittos, and specifying "Different region" leaves in most of the english ones.

Depositing seems to be the way to go if you want to make a specific trade.

I've been taking revenge on the Wonder trade system lately. Sending out excess charmanders with subtly misspelled names like Charnamder and Charmendar.

The Battle Chateau place is too easy for levelling up. I spent ages in there after sending for a silver writ; the potential challengers were seemingly endless. I've got 800,000 + cash now and my team are just under lvl 70. Still yet to get my seventh badge as well.

Can you breed a Ditto after it hits 100?
I've never managed to get one there but part of me has always worried that their Ovarenis dries up when they can't level no more. (and around Lvl 30 is when you can start making a lot of steps - and hence eggs - without paying through the nose for them.)

So, yeah... a bit fire heavy, but overpowered enough.

Also, is it my imagination or are the Legendaries easier to catch in this game? It did take a few ultra balls to catch that ugly mofo Zygarde, but it wasn't nearly as teeth gnashingly frustrating as trying to catch Kyurem in BW. I think Mewtwo took a grand total of 3 ultra balls to catch...

I'm just disappointed cause I don't think it's any good. It's the first pseudo-legendary I wouldn't consider having on my team.

Oh yeah, the fact that you can get a Bagon fairly early only makes it even more useless (Salamence vs Goodra? No contest). The typing was the 1st thing I found out about it though, and I lost interest straight away. It's annoying because I always used the pseudo in my in game team and I was trying to use as many of the new Pokemon as possible (always do).

you can get ninetales in the friend safari and egg Vulpix from there

Hopefully it will be good, they should make it a little easier for grass types though but overall the game looks promising to say the least.

I've spent most of the game giving Pokémon dumb names and sending them off into Wonder Trade. Most of the people who get them are Japanese. They will never appreciate my work.

I need to go back and get all the legendaries/event Pokémon from Gen IV and move them to V so I can move them to VI when the Pokébox trial comes along. On Gen V, is there anything of particular note in the Dream World that I should get before it closes down? Hidden abilities can be found in the Friend Safari right?

Finally got round to clearing this. Had my Pokemon around the level 90 mark so it was comfortable. Was hoping

Serena would be the champ or one of the others in the gang

Charizard
Tyrantrum
Butterfree

I then managed to capture Mewtwo and Zygarde - in Poke Balls. I'm pleased with myself at managing that. Moltres has been a pain in the backside to catch though.
