Nct for 11 months and taxed for 8, looks like a great bargain.

    Too good too be true?

    Another bargain

    http://cars.donedeal.ie/cars-for-sale/toyota-celica-st202/5810726

Always liked the look of these

Seems too good to be true, if there's 8 month tax on it that's worth pretty much the asking price alone!! exterior looks to be in great condition too. I'm not even in the market for a second car but at that price I'd be tempted! :D

I know something doesn't really add up there.

Was told it went threw but failed and was going threw again
But add now changed not mentioning nct at all as before said fresh nct thanks

At that price level you're better off buying private.

Just spotted this also. I'm actually looking for a second car at the moment but want something for pulling a trailer, but this is just unbelievable! The tax is worth more than the car!!

    RE the Alfa Romeo above:

    http://www.carsireland.ie/add.php
    NCT expiry date: None
    Tax due date: None

Also, has anyone noticed that theres a green tax disc in the window, i.e the colour they used last year; yet the seller claims it has 8 months tax left...

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,703 ✭✭✭Mad_Mike

Ad is now gone, but they have another one............
2 lady owners from new also...
    10 months NCT..

You're right about the CDRs too dude but a bit of googling solved that issue. They seem to be sensitive to the speed the CDs are burned. iTunes gives the option to burn at 1x which is the lowest speed which work on the Volvo head unit.

    Again,

    http://www.carsireland.ie/add.php
    NCT expiry date: None
    Tax due date: None

The tax disc in the window of the Punto is from 2011 ffs.

What the **** is wrong with whoever is putting up those ads?

I'm breaking every rule here, too expensive , probably wouldn't buy it myself, but it does deserve a special mention. 15,000 genuine miles.

People advertising their cars as mint, sit up and take note...no they are not mint. That starlet though....thats mint.

Looks very much like it has never seen a shower of rain even. Still not sure why its in the vintage section though and that doesn't make it worth €2,600 either

Like new but I could never pay that much for it. Imo it's way overpriced.

Perhaps but in some ways it's like buying a practically new Japanese , simple to maintain car , and having driven a standard one lately they are a bit of fun to drive! just ask any auto test lad.

So if you got it for a bit more than two grand and drove it for 5 years it's very cheap motoring.

Octavia, reliable 1.6 petrol, long NCT, belt done. Asking €900

    Full-24175633.jpeg

Respectable, reliable bangernomics for very little money

Practical too. If it stops working, you could always use it as a holiday home :D

I had a Seicento written off by an identical IS200.

    Nice cars nonetheless.

A tad expensive, looks dated inside and out, but a brand new early and very long NCT does bring a lot of peace of mind!

    What's the "snow" button do?

They're usually only on automatics, starts in 2nd gear to reduce wheel spin. PWR button changes gear later.
That interior pic is of a manual though...

The buttons are usually under the handbrake like here

Yeah but from a car enthusiast viewpoint - it seems wrong to buy that and horse it up and down the road everyday on the work commute

    Nice car though

like new it may be but those starlets very dated now, and while build quality and reliability is top notch the price just can't be justified Imo.

If im honest id be embarrassed with myself if I handed over 2.6k for it. I would only pay 1500 max for it. Even then I think I might be paying too much.

Sellers chancing his arm massively - but in reality - they only need one person to happily pay that amount and standing in their yard with the money :D.

You certainly couldn't justify the car at that money if you wanted it to drive everyday. But maybe theres someone out there that loves 90 - 96 era Starlets - and would kill to have that car.

Id be embarrassed to pay 2.6 k for it as well lol.

Its still just a Starlet though. Its not classic and I bet 99% of people who walk past it wouldn't look twice at it tbh.

It was €3,500 when I saw it at a classic car show in Swords two weeks ago.

Aye. Doesn't make much sense on a manual, that's why I asked. the only thing I could think of is a very sensitive (extra) setting on the traction control? Or maybe the seller is bullsh1tting :D
