UPC WiFi dropping intermittently (Horizon)

has anyone experienced this ? Basically the WiFi is dropping intermittently, sometimes for just a few seconds, sometimes for a few minutes. This is a complete pain as it means Netflix stopping, online videos stopping, dropped Lync calls etc. I've had UPC broadband for years and this has never happened, only started since I got Horizon.
    Any remedies ?

Could be many things, but are the drops regular (every 20 or 30 minutes)? If so, check on the router page to see how often DHCP is set to renew. I don't know what the default on Horizon is, but on a previous UPC router it was set to 30 minutes, meaning the network drops exactly twice every hour.

Use https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.farproc.wifi.analyzer&hl=en this on your phone/pc/iphone
Find a channel with no interference and change the routers wifi channel to that.

7 works for me but may not for you.

change the wireless frequency used by the box....factory set to ch1, change to ch11 or 7.
