I will not change the record, I will not respond to you, I have reported your post and will wait for a mod to comment.

I don't know who you are or what your reason for your continued abuse of me is. I do trust that moderation will be along presently.

but don't punctures mean that the tyre loses air, be it quickly or slowly? Or am I missing something here?

This fecking thing lost pressure in the space of five minutes, normally I'd check every week and it might be down by two or three psi is what I meant, yesterday it was down 7 psi, which would be normal for that volume of driving I'd do in terms of miles.

The fact it was fine on the motorway to me means I must have walloped something en route to the services and didn't notice, which would be perfectly normal for me in early morning "must get to x" mode. It most definitely wasn't a slow puncture that you could top up :)

I'd a slow puncture previously in a tyre which was actually a problem with the valve. It lost pressure regularly and had to be checked religiously.

I guess what I'm trying to say is that I'm strict enough about checking pressure that I'd know if I'd a slow puncture and anticipate it.

Ach don't worry. I've very short hair (shorter than MMs) and the first day I was onsite where I'm working this week, half the staff thought I was a bloke as I wasn't wearing particularly fitted clothes, and kept calling me sir :D

Hmmmm, all the abuse going every direction here tonight.

I even got it from a student who asked if I was a "wheeler dealer" as she spotted me selling my car a few weeks back. Apparently her dad watches the shower and I look like the fat short one. GREAT.

Can a mod have a word with her?

Her dad must have a very dismal life if he watches showers all day :pac:

I hope you don't think I've been abusive to you I certainly didn't mean it, and when I realised it was in the middle of a personal conflict here I distanced myself :)

Personally I think Mike Brewer is like a cuddly teddy bear, he does have the most appalling accent though!

Have you never sat on the beach/pier and just watched the rain?

Many many times :) I just had this image of this man sitting in his bathroom just looking at his shower and then sighing and thinking, there's never anything good on this anymore

Yes, many times. But my friends say if I continue to do it I'll get arrested. I have an interesting story about sitting on a park bench in Burgos over the summer but it's not for this forum.

I'm just suffering from severe trauma from this morning, I'd to be on a client site and was 2.5 hours late, so now I'm paranoid.

Cuddly short fat one is fine, sure compared to Edd China, we'd all be the same :D

    Your friends are weird.

At least they won't burn :D

And better than a coffee splattered roof and door :D

Do you guys consider Bridgestones to be good tyres and what would you expect to pay for a 205/55/16 one?

Got the car back from the garage today and they couldn't find anything wrong with it, all tyres were fine, shocks suspension all good and they kept it yesterday and drove it around abit and could find nothing wrong. Drove it myself this evening and it drives fine. It's a fecking mystery. But to be safe I'm gonna bring it to another garage for a second opinion

Bridgestones are excellent tyres IMO. Not sure of a price but they should be fairly cheap in that size :)

That is truly bizarre only explanation I can give you is an intermittent problem with the suspension to be honest. As in something is about to fail, but hasn't failed enough to be diagnosable.

€156 per tyre, and with my Axa discount €103, I was gobsmacked.

That seems like a lot compared to the prices on here http://www.eiretyres.com/cgi-bin/rshop.pl

I would have been gobsmacked by €156 too! No Axa discount either...

Edit: Just had a look on www.eiretyres.com Bridgestones in that size range from €80 to €193!

Thanks guys, no idea what type of tyre it is tbh, but there is a big price differential! Is there anyway I can check on the tyre to figure out what I've bought? Sorry, know it's a stupid question :)

Mates lower ball joint broke on his van. Had this kind of thing going on, only with the top of the wheel in and the bottom out.

    Hover1985.jpg

Scary biscuits. Could have been worse though, the drive shaft had a good go at the gear box casing. Feckin shíty roads again.

Get the model and ratings from the wall e.g. Bridgestone Turanza ER 30 C 205/55 R16C 98/96H and see can you find it on eiretyres (they have about 60 different Bridgestones in 205/55 R16 listed). The example I used is the €193 one. The second last part 98/96 is the load rating, so you could find a few tyres with the same details except for that bit, and prices will differ.

    A good read.

Will do, have a bit of downtime tomorrow so I'll use it for that.

I suspect it's actually a decent enough tyre but may be wrong, I'll post up the results :) That's just based on how good the car felt to drive this evening which may be predicated by this mornings horror :)

Only time I ever got talking to a garda at a checkpoint he asked me why did I waste my money on a body kit and the second dud exhaust.

He also said he heard they were great on diesel :p

City driving, so that'd be very optimistic! The first quarter of a tank is always bigger than the last too :pac:

Well when you're going at a snail's pace on the hard shoulder with a bust tyre you're sure to get high mpg...even in an Alfa :P
