O_o please say your friend said that

    Nope instructor.
I was told grade 2 for going slightly over the speed limit while a grade 3 if you were driving like a granny.
I heard that off 2 different instructors as well

Lads I just got confirmation of my driving test next Friday the 1st (license is out on the 12th, insurance due the 13th).

My question is are you able to enable your speed limiter for the test? The C5 has this feature and I figured it could be convenient (not that I'm going to speed of course).

My driving instructor said I couldn't use it on my test. But then I didn't really quiz him to much on it so he may of just been over careful. It's generally car features you can't turn of you can use ie hill start assist or parking sensor. In the octavia when I was doing my test last year I couldn't turn off the parking sensors and they were beeping away doing the 3 point turn but once I was observing correctly I wasn't marked for it.

Best thing you can do is take the tester for a nice smooth drive go the speed limit not under or over it and just plenty of observations and you should pass no problem. I still look back on my test fondly it was a Saturday afternoon on a bank holiday weekend on literally the warmest day of the year it was well into the mid thirties. The only thing the tester said other than directions was turn on the a/c :)

Lads does anyone know if superglue would bond glass to glass? like loctite or something, a little problemo has arisen with a friends motor :/ the mirror slides out see, but the lovely people at halfrauds ripped it out and took a piece of glass with it :/ which is still stuck to the mount, doesn have windscreen cover so yeah, would it work??

As far as I'd be concerned - if halfords damaged his car, land halfrauds with the bill to fix it

The most recent (and now former) lady pickles had her test cancelled due to the fact the tester "feared for his life" :pac:
I failed mine after I got a puncture halfway through, cut my hands and knees trying to change it, and driving too slowly, all the while the ignorant ****e of a tester spent the entire time farting in an inaudible but deadly way.

No ****ing wonder I was impeding the flow of traffic when the fumes from his farts caused tears in my eyes, and the car being freezing after I opened the window to get rid of the noxious fart fumes.

OH failed his after he knocked down a dog!

If you have tits, long legs, a very short skirt and a low cut top you will pass:pac:

Or at least thats the only reason I can see how my ex wife passed, she was (and still is )a useless driver

    Does she drive a micra?
Halfords what a bunch of apes

I brought the C5 in to them once to replace the headlight as I couldn't be arsed. They couldn't get something out of the way (think the battery cover was jammed) and refused to use the jack to get it out. I did it myself and they stood there like slack jawed yokels in shock, then finally emerged from their stupor only to fit the fupping bulb wrong.

Yes - see my story above.

Came home via the M2 this evening (couldn't bear the thought of hitting a crash on the M1, they happen at least three times a week) and came off the M2 at Ashbourne.

Cops had a MASSIVE checkpoint which closed off almost all of one of the lanes, all cars were waved through and they had five vans all parked up behind their cordon. Can't be customs looking for dodgy diesel, is it possibly a welfare checkpoint like they were talking about? All the vans were tradespeople vans.

Revenue and black market tradesmen I'm guessing.

    Seriously?

Four people of six foot wouldn't fit in the gtv and it's bigger than the mini!

You sit very close to the ground in a Mini and have a very steeply angled seat base so your legs dont stretch out in front of you if that makes sense.

    This kinda shows it

Hmm, must hunt one down and see :)

I have long legs and frequently find if I can't adjust the seat up and back, that my knees are hitting off the steering wheel.

Does anyone have an email address for Nissan Doctor?

I might want a car checked out in Louth on Saturday.

His new location is quite obtainable through means of search. AFAIK, he still works Saturdays.

The black one is nicer turned out in the photos but I think I would prefer the red one. Better colour for a mini and I would love to own a low milage car :o

I'd have both of them onto a ramp first though. Divils for the rust! Are you going to go for it?

Well if you want to buy any 2 of my current cars I could afford one of them :P

Your choices are (pick 2) :

    Toyota Levin

    Lancia Delta 1.6 turbo

    Suzuki Samurai

I know where he works but thought if he was near the car he might look it over.

Cheers though, I've already had a PM and have a means of communication

I can't agree more with this point.

If you're serious join an Irish mini club and they'll help you out but be aware they rust like hell and if they've had a dodgy paint job it's probably hiding problems. If you can weld great, if you can't prepare to pay a welder. Lots of overpriced rubbish out there, and as a general rule the later the registration the poorer the rust protection applied. 90's cars are the worst.

That's a pity because I like the later cars more mostly because a much bigger percentage of them have the 1275. I think the smaller engined ones might just be a bit slow for me... Could be wrong though.

They're all slow, it's how they handle that's important ;)

Some are slower than others though!

I'm not sure what my plan is car wise. Part of me wants to change when I get a new NCT on my car (march) but I have only just about got my car the way I want and it would be a shame to get rid of it right away... And I don't know what I want in a new car (other than not white!) I'm looking at everything from Mini's to V6 166's at the moment:confused:

I think if I advertised it someone would put it in the dreamers thread though:pac:

I have been trying to gauge what it's worth but I'm finding it hard to value it...
