Just stumbled on a video of multiplayer . Said I wasn't going to get another cod for a long while after giving up on black ops 2 before Christmas last year. I'm surprised by the lack of hype.
Still prob won't pick it up but you never know. Not sure battlefield is my thing even tho I played a bit of 3.

Gta might have to keep my online fix going

Be wise and move to Battlefield... it is like growing up, teenage discos are fun for a while but the action is in the nightclubs and once you are there you will only skit at those in the teenage discos.

Be wise and move your Battlefield loving self back over to that forum. Don't come in here again preaching how BF is better than COD.

Lol at some of the people saying they won't get it, last year all my mates said that but they went down at midnight launch for BO2

Hardened edition prebooked and paid off. Only doing it for the season pass rly, couldn't give a toss for the rest of the content.

Indeed, I only played BO2 for a few weeks and said at the time i'll never buy another CoD... but i know i'll end up picking this up when i get one of the new consoles ! fml.

This COD might actually surpass expectations as there is no hype at all, will still get more hours out of this than most games anyway regardless of how bad it is.

I watched a few videos of gameplay last night and it looks...good. Maps looks alright, and you can damage parts of them changing the terrain a bit, which is pretty cool. Saw one where a petrol station blew up and the part covering the pumps fell over on its side blocking out the sightline that was there before.

im a huge call of duty fan but im very disapointed how next gen version is basically current gen with minimumly better graphics :\

i think next years call of duty is when cod really enters the next generation.

Look this year's COD has to cater for both the current and next generation, I will give IW a break as they can't really do that much with the next gen I mean a lot of the games like watchdogs & Drive Club are being pushed out to next year! The real test of COD will come November 2014, there will be a lot of expectation on Treyarch's shoulders to produce a next gen worthy COD game. It will be interesting to see if they can pull it off.

That always happens with launch versions though, same when the xbox 360 launched and it had the same but prettier version the ps2 and xbox had. The next one will have given the devs time to use the new hardware more.

Well maybe Ghost will be enough of a blow to their pockets that they might stop releasing one every year and actually try to make an improved Cod on the next gen.

It'll still sell a pile but I can't see it breaking Blops2's sales

To be fair, Black Ops 2 on 360 versus PC is a huge difference - I don't think it's fair to say that Ghosts will be 'minimally' better visually. Sure, the engines a bit dated, but it still looks OK and suits the arcade feel of the game, and there'll still be a huge improvement on the 360 version.

The framerate is what saves COD, I have the BF4 demo on ps3 and going from that to COD it has nearly twice the framerate it seems, runs way faster and smoother.

Just went in and pre-ordered this - Already have a Day 1 edition Xbone pre-ordered too. Not much of a FIFA player but I'll take it while it's free

MW3 was the first CoD MP that I didn't enjoy playing. I just couldn't get into it and I can't explain why. I found that a few of my friends were the same. The maps on MW3 just felt a bit sterile or something. I can't quite put my finger on it. Loved both Blops.

Pre-ordered Ghosts, but doesn't seem like interest is very high though. I hope I can really get into the MP unlike IW's last CoD offering.

I chucked MW3 on the other day and got the last map pack, never bothered with it before even though I had the hardened edition, gotta say the last new maps were really good. and there was only a couple of maps in the game at launch I liked.

im the same, i just didnt enjoy MW3 and kind of gave up on infinity ward after that but they moved away from MW and its next gen so they have one more chance.

treyarch on the other hand make amazing call of duties and actually bring new ideas into their games instead of cloning the one before

Specialist was a new idea and probably the best thing about MW3. So it's not like they don't introduce anything new.

ok the usual stuff like that is introduced in all cods but i duno i just felt like i was playing mw2 DLC instead of a new game.

black ops 2 felt like a different game than black ops 1 in every single way.

Think MW3 gets a hard time, I thought the maps were grand, we did get loads of them, remember all the small ones? they were great for private matches and those 2v2 3v3 game modes, also loved AON that was great fun, they also introduced Kill Confirmed and enjoyed the infected game mode. The only thing that pissed me off was I reached prestige 10 and then they decided to add 10 more prestiges but gave the eggbox crowd a months headstart over us on ps3, now I don't mind you M$ boys getting the downloadable content before us PS folks, but the extra 10 prestiges weren't a downloadable item, I had major row with Activision's OneOfSwords about this. So hope they don't pull another prestige level change halfway through the year! Still got to 20 prestige ;)

I've played Cod4, MW2 and Blops 1 but I never played a whole lot of multiplayer for those three. I really only got into online play for MW3 and looking back now, we gave MW3 a hard time yet we still sank hours and hours into it which is a testament to the game really.

While I enjoyed blops 2, I haven't played it half as much as MW3.

I'm still looking forward to picking up ghosts (at launch no doubt) and playing countless hours online with a good bunch of lads and while we will no doubt bitch and moan about the game, we're still gonna play it.

I don't really know where I'm going with this... COD Ghosts launch party at mine with coke and hookers, all welcome :D

    All of this!

Everyone moaned at each and every new CoD. MW2, Black Ops, MW3 and Black Ops II all got a really hard time. We still go back and play all of these games from time to time so clearly they're liked.

Of course Ghosts will be no exception, it'll get a hard time for whatever reason but people will continue to vegetate in front of it for 30 hours a week.

I'm tempted to dig out my Ghost costume for Halloween again, it's more relevant this year :pac: had combats, boots, an airsoft tac vest, toy gun painted black, the Ghost mask I got online and my turtle beach headset. :D

What's the likelyhood of any hardened editions being available after launch? Just don't have the shillings to pre order and would just like the hardened for the season pass.

Heard Gamestop are doing a PS3 to PS4 game upgrade for €14.99.

I presume to be able to do that I'd have to buy the PS3 version of Ghosts from them in the first place? Or could I buy it anywhere then pop in to Gamestop, pay the €14.99 & get the PS4 version?

the only call of duties that i would ever play again is call of duty 4 and black ops 2
