Laptop makes beeping sound

Have not used laptop in a few months to day when i turned it on it
made a loud beeping sound and wont start up

What make and model is it? Sounds like a BIOS beep... One long continuous beep could be video card failure.

not continus beeping like clock radio its a compaq presario f500

Could also be RAM(the memory sticks) a little out of place/failed. This should be easy check, by unscrewing compartment with the RAM. And giving them push/check if they are tightly in place. (Or a local pc shop to try a different stick of RAM, in case it's failed..rare though that is.)
