Why is that women talk about this "fun" lark?

It's not a dirty word and it's not shameful, calling it "fun" doesn't make it more or less so. It's sex. You want sex. Say it loud and say it proud.

Call it a pet peeve but it really grinds my gears.

Sex?? What??? Where did you get that idea from??? The girl is just looking for FUN....A game of charades or scrabble or something wholesome like that.

Fun is a bit more 'PC', and it's what women actually want ... things to be fun, Men to be men and be exciting, spontaneous.. etc !! < insert other examples here > the Sex is just a by-product of said fun ...

A deeply philosophical question I know, but does that mean that for males fun is a by-product of sex and for females sex is a by-product of fun?

Fun exist's on many level's i've had fun and it not be in the physical sense, and vice versa ..

It is what ever you make it ... but in the context here, it's related to sex.

....altho isnt everything really related to sex...

I was expecting this to end with shame, disappointment, tears and comfort eating. How disappointing to find out I was helpful and it ended better than anybody could have expected.

So... I'm having a bit of indecision. There's a guy that I fancy the pants off. He was a consultant through work, but the project is coming to an end soon and I'm thinking of asking him out - purely for fun and games.

The thing is, I never ask guys out. I'm a bit nervous about it. I know what I'd say to him, but I'm worried that he'd say no. I'd be looking to hook up with this fella, but nothing long term.

We have flirted a bit. We get on grand, but I'm purely interested in him physically.

Dermot, You need to cut this sh1t out on a Saturday night man. All these young dudes be creamin

Let this be a lesson to all women

if you fancy a guy and want to enjoy some casual fun, just say so, he WILL say yes.

What if they would have to travel to a different county?

I thought 'fun' was the code word guys use. Maybe both sexes use the word.

And how do you feel about the word 'slut'? Grind any gears, that one?

The day the women are not judged and looked down on, if promiscuous or up for casual sex, is the day you will see the euphemisms for sex start to disappear.

That day is far off yet in the society where the countryside churches are filled to the rafters every Sunday morning.

I doubt its that far off, whenever it comes up here the majority agree that women can be as promiscuous as men and not be judged!

Ill be lambasted for this but its mostly other women who judge! In my experience and opinion.

The majority on a thread like this, perhaps. But if I remember correctly, there was a thread on here a few months ago about "what does the word 'slut' mean to you" and all in all it was a pretty depressing read. Although some of the judgments made were diplomatically couched in some very mealy-mouthed terms, as in "someone who has no respect for themselves" and similar. Still.
