You were assaulted in Supermacs, you contacted management & the Gardai you were directed to by that management. Supermacs have video footage.

You have just won several hundreds, if not thousands of euros.

    Just let it go.

    Move on.

    Happiness attracts happiness.

    Negativity likewise.

If i walked up to you right now and took a massive slash on you what would you do? Would you let it go?

Thank God we have an expert here who knows how to diagnose disorders

OP, to be quite honest I don't think anything will happen here. It's disgusting for sure, but so is when drunk people puke on you or do something else that is unacceptable. Wash your jeans/ legs and be more suspicious next time someone stands behind you in a queue...nothing else you can do
    Just let it go.

So much bull**** in one thread.. please refrain from giving advice in the future if you's are going to come out with that muck.

But sadly nothing will happen with the guards or from supermacs. The bouncer and manager fobbed you off and then the guards did as well. It's a messed up thing to happen but best to put it behind you because you'll just wind yourself up more as to why nothing was or will be done about it.

Terrible advice. She should absolutely follow it up.

The Gardaì will do their job, even if they need a bit of probing.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,540 ✭✭✭emo72

It's probably the most embarrassing thing to happen. I thought by telling the bouncer he would have at least took him to the floor, considering he was causing trouble again after I told him, but no.
I seen the manager take pictures of him on his phone, probably to follow up on the CCTV footage...
It's disgusting, I am definitely following it up, nothing has happened to me like this in my life. I don't want it to happen to someone else...

i hope you follow this up. its a disgusting thing to happen to you. dont listen to people who say "ah sure, just move on". wtf has happened to us that we accept this? the manager, bouncer and guards dont want to even bother with this? if i urinated on the street theres a good chance the garda would pull me, and we have seen that happen. but when a fella urinates on a girl no one wants to help?
    whats going on?

    Ahem.
If you have been assaulted while attending an event or on licensed premises you should always:

Report the accident to management and call the Gardaí
Seek medical attention as soon as possible
Identify any witnesses and take details
Consult a personal injuries solicitor as soon as practicable
Assault cases are invariably complex matters and expert legal advice should always be sought before making a claim.

This is what I hate about closing time - the all around madness.

If somebody had whipped out there johnston and pee'd on the opposite during the day in supermacs they would probably be done for sexual assault, indecent exposure and just about every other thing other the sun.

At night though its shrugged off - the gardai are trying to deal with too much crap half the time, and a lot of people would be willing to forget about it anyway - its all just forgotten in closing time madness. Fair play to the OP, go back to the gardai and let them know your deadly serious about pursing it further.

Well the gardai on the night didnt care. It's a bit silly to say they will do their job when they bloody well could have done it there and then!

As it stands now there are the varibles of did the guards write down the guys name? If so, was a real name given?

On a sexual note; wee wee can really kick the madness in the bedroom up a notch or two.

I agree, but I hope you mean bathroom!

OP that is rank :( I don't think I would have handled it as well as you did, so fair play.

The Garda did write down his name and I thought exactly the same when they told me they took his details too. I looked at the Garda as much to say...honestly, he lied to them, told them he didn't do it. They weren't even taking my details until I realised they let him go and ran back outside to give them to them myself.

Ew. A lot of people will be like "lol", but they certainly wouldn't find it funny if it happened to them!! People need to fricken control themselves, how revolting.

Similar thing happened to me at Oxygen a few years ago when I was 17. It was absolutely jammers (think Muse were playing), and I felt something warm on the back of my bare legs. Looked around and some guy was píssing on me!! He was basically comatose, I don't think he knew what he was doing, but still.
I was sooo horrified, I started crying! Got over it quickly enough (I had to clean it with cleansing wipes, though...), but ughhhh.

It's good you reported it, OP. The worst thing is that they did it just for the laugh. It's ridiculous how scummy and disrespectful people can be!

Same thing happened to me when i was 15 a Metallica concert, some people are just scummers. i even seen it happen in supermacs in maynooth when i worked there a few years ago, and theres nothing super about that place its a ****e hole. sorry to hear you had a bad night =(

Call the gards and tell them they must follow up. Also complain to Supermacs and tell them the security man did nothing and didn't check the cameras. That's disgusting and that guy who pissed on you doesn't deserve to get away with that. If not an arrest, he at least deserves a hiding.

    No legal advice please.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,420 ✭✭✭Lollipops23

OP what an absolute scummer!! Seriously, how on earth could anyone ever find that funny?

Jesus I'd have been beyond livid if it happened to me! How on earth could the security guard be so ok about it? Surely there was piss all over the floor?

OP did you physically see him weeing on you?

Are you sure it wasn't a prank to freak you out?

I've been drunk. I can see how it might be funny to freak someone out by pretending to have weed on them.

Actually doing it... that's so hard to get my head around that the sceptical alarm bells are ringing.

Thats disgusting nothing worse than an unwanted golden shower hopefully you get the CCTV footage take him to court and get some compo he shouldn't get away with that

I know. Thats the bit of what happened that sums up alot for me. That the guards didnt even ask for your details and you had to run out and give them. Like they didnt even take it seriously!

Seachmall is right in one way that you shouldnt just drop it ... but what I meant earlier was that you have alot of varibles right now. Will the guards take you serious knowing they didnt on the night, will supermacs give the guards the footage knowing they didnt care when it happened there and then too? and even if both parties do comply ... the guy most likely gave a false name.

By all means try if you feel. But don't get your hopes up, because you'll just end up winding yourself up.

Pretty sure I seen him zip his jeans up and run for his life after he seen I had noticed the WARM liquid running down the back of my jeans...I'm sure CCTV has more than what he would want seen on tape anyway...

Also, why would he have lied to the guards and told them he did no such thing? He could have told them it was a joke but he completely denied it.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,420 ✭✭✭Lollipops23

It was horrible. He wasn't concerned about it at all, probably used to people brushing this sort of crap off...
there was, it was all over the floor...people were looking at it while I stood there in shock. The guy was a nutter...

I don't know of anyone who would "brush it off" OP, a lot of people would even turn violent!

Honestly, you are 100% entitled to not let this go-follow it up and make a nuisance out of yourself if you have to. The guys sounds like a complete perv if that's how he gets his jollies.

Where did this happen and please do follow it up with both Supermacs and the Gardai.
You will have to become a thorn in both their sides before something will be done but that is the norm.

The manager in supermacs was more than helpful, it was the security who wasn't
He was causing trouble after what he done at the counter and I ran up to the same security guy to tell him it was him, he did nothing only talked to him at the door. This is when the owner/manager came over and told me to call the guards.

He lied when he realised that what started out as an ill-thought out jape on his part is actually assault, a public order offence, and possibly lewd behaviour thrown in and that the Gardai would be very interested in him.

I would suggest to follow up things in writing OP. Diarise it right now, write down as much of the incident as you can remember, you'd be surprised how think that you will remember but forget after a bit of time has passed.

If you call into the garda station, ask for the name and badge number of the garda who you speak to, same with any supermacs staff or management. Make a point of them knowing you have their name, this shows that you are taking it very seriously and might be prepared to take it further. If the management in that branch fob you off, write to head office (Supermacs, Parkmore East, Galway) addressing it to the owner if need be. Copy the gardai into any letter that you send, and vice versa.

I'm sorry that this happened to you, and hope that you get proper apologies from the staff that were involved and the culprit held accountable for his actions.

This is absolutely horrific. I hope you get the justice you deserve. In the states this fella would be put on the registered sex offenders list. If I saw this I would have smacked the living feck out of him. He's lucky he didn't get battered.

It wasn't like he went beside me and it got on me. He was stood close enough to me, I thought he was walking away but he had moved to behind me and aimed right for the back of my jeans like I was some sort or urinal.
