whatever became of your almera Cian? know a lad looking for a fog light kit if you fancy a few quid.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,729 ✭✭✭✭CianRyan

He can have them for free if he fancies finding all the shards if glass and gluing them back together. :p
They've had it! Have a brand new light stalk there for the fogs if he needs that, no idea what that's go for.

The Almera's still sitting outside, full of food, parts and petrol.
I'll get rid of it... One day.

Maybe it'll fit on the back of a Ford F350. :pac:

take whats of value in it and weigh it in for scrap and cut your losses?

    It happened. It finally happened

Went for an auld shpinn round westmeath (anyone spot me?)

I drove down this road, then turned down this narrow country road. It got progressively narrower in direct proportion to the grass in the middle of the road getting wider and taller. The grass suddenly turned into rushes the height of my bonnet and the road narrowed further. Eventually, staring in disbelief, I saw the road completely disappear infront of me and I am now in a field..... I had to reverse a long way back :pac:
If the tops of the rushes weren't green, I believe you.

All the best bits were were up front. Haha
GTI bumper and brand new fogs just destroyed, rare as all hell!
From there back it's perfect though, if he's after parts he can have a dig through it. :)
Seats are almost new in it, back especially.

Yeah, I keep meaning to do that but I just never seem to get around to it. There's image issue of scumbag scrap yards that'll charge me to take it away, then make a few hundred on parts.

Unless your car has 5 tonne of metal in it, it's pub talk.

Some lad in college got €100 for his near-dead 106. Could do worse.

The 2003 Avensis I've been driving around in has been sold for 850 to a large breakers yard.

i'd asume with a car like that, it has a higher scrap value as plently of parts will be re-saleable fairly quickly.

unlike say an early 90's 106 which is just worth its weight.

when we were going to scrap our 99 punto during the summer we were offered €200 and the scrap yard would collect it too iirc.

That's pretty much what I thought. All lights, panels and electrics were fine. Engine was good but gearbox was shot. I lost second in Dublin and 4th went at the toll bridge in Portlaoise but it was a complete car apart from that. Parts would be in demand for them too as people repair them to keep them going.

Just seen a reno traffic broke down at the side of the road. One lad crankin the starter like mad while the other was pouring diesel in from little 5l tank.

That just reminded me of an absolute anus I saw here yesterday.....

I was heading towards the Tankard when I saw this car in the distance looking fairly strange, I go up beside it and I realised i was a broken down car. Parked in the middle of the road, bonnet up, hazards a flashing. The genius had only passed a nice place to pull in by about 10 metres but nooooo pull up in the middle of the road and block traffic from both directions.

It was a corsa too just to really irritate me :mad::mad:

I was always surprised by the amount of facelift Octavia IIs in the Classic spec.

I thought even in Ireland in 2013, that basic air con and paint colour wing mirrors would be a given. Obviously not. :pac:

    But don't you know? It's a 131 and that's all that matters!

I heard it runs on Flintstones technology, as in you run with it to power it, gets up to 50 blisters per mile I've heard, fabulous technology :pac:

They're at the British embassy. Just looking at them right now. Still nobody pulled but lots of cars braking hard. They are using a tripod. They're aiming it towards Vincent's hospital

Hilariously they just lifted it to put away as a 13 reg Ferrari on NI plates came down Merrion RD in full song. It sounded good.

    It's gone now.

Are you trying to get stopped for speeding?

    Right. Weird question.
I've (and there is no other way to say this) just found out that some of the trim in my car is stuck on with blu-tack.

Does anyone know what to use to re-attach a fake wood trim to a door, that doesnt damage leather or fake wood?
