That thread should be a sticky....do not lie to the motors forum:pac:

Well I just found it in the charter FAQ. But I think it could be emphasised as a sticky alright.

Oh man.. I'm still chuckling. :D

    Yep, that's the one!

There was a more recent one though of some lad claiming to own an E92/E46 M3.

Well claiming I know things about stuff is rather vague, as is assuming I have more than a rudimentary knowledge of cars.

With that it's grand, big, comfy (less front leg room than in his old C5 though), and his is automatic so fairly easy to drive. It's also surprisingly ok on fuel

It's a bit of a horror to park as the boot is long. Anything in particular you wanted to know?

Well people tend to know things, about stuff do they not? anywho, yeah, I was just wondering what they're like in general because I might be acquiring one in the near future ( december to march) but it's gona be a daysul, an e220 cdi parking shouldn't be a problem, just take a bit getting used to, I did hear however they are a nightmare for rust :o

His is a 00 (or whatever fancy classification it has :)) and it's fine rust wise, passed the nct first time when he did it, but it had just one owner from new afaik, and it was low mileage, and our mechanic serviced it for at least the past eight years or so. I think the most common problem with his one was the MAF

I'm not allowed drive it, unless he is stuck trying to get it parked, at which point he gets me to park it

Was that him in here the other day asking about why he was dinging his car so much :pac: 15 months he was out for I do believe? :P

Sure we'l wait and see what happens, I'm not able to justify driving my car anymore, I can't afford it, well barely

What are you driving now, and how much mileage? Are you the mad 60k mileage person?

70K to be precise :) and it's a 1.4 astra, tax won't be an issue for the most part

Search for a thread called "Evogate" ;)

That was brilliant. Best thread I have read on here so far. Must make a mental note not to tell any white lies here :D

This is some bullsh*t weather.... Also those kerb bumpers think you have problems? Earlier today I encountered speed bumps on a farm outside Poyntzpass, the whole underneath of the car scraped off the top of them. Then there was the whack from the towbar when it shot back down the other side.... Creeping over them and all. A sound to make anyone cringe. 3 in and the same back out

Thinking of using a Fiat intercooler similar to a TD100 setup.... See if it makes any difference to the heatsoak and all that :)

Just need some pipework and engineering....

Have had the bumper scrapey alright... in the e46 and the almera, worst overall was coming out of DCU carpark. The angle is crazy, nearly got beached on it! Pure cringe as the entire underside of the car scraped :(

    Ohh yb mx5: http://passionford.com/forum/cars-for-sale/461639-yb-cosworth-engine-mx5-road-legal-track-weapon-t5-box-7-5in-diff-rear-cage.html

£4000 for a track toy, but a fun one.

Also have loads of parts I could possibly sell with it for the right price- L8 ECU, Green injectors, 3bar MAP sensor (new), 4x4 TPS (new), Collins/Pectel pro monitor, Cat Cams vernier pulleys (new), etc etc- Just need a suitable chip and that's Stg3 300bhp+ 300lbft+ crazy spec. (weight just tips 1000kgs)

Had a glance at it earlier, but have just read all 13 pages. :D

I especially like how he posted that it was all a bluff, then swiftly deleted the post (unless I'm mistaken). I think it might even top Evogate. :D

The politically correct thing would be to say whats left of the underneath of my car :(

I did flitter a bumper off a high kerb before, didn't care as it was ruined anyway by a hare at 70mph

I think I'm settled on getting a 2006-2008 Mazda6 1.8 Exec. Now just to find one. And owing to a stupid fook up by the Credit Union I have to wait a week for them to clarify a point. As I'm away the week after next I could be a while longer without a car.

Talking to my mechanic today, he was saying that that the NCT centres are struggling so much to cope with demand for tests that there is discussion about going back to the two year rule for all cars 10 years plus.

But if you think about it, it's leaving more to go wrong with your car!

Which means more to repair, which costs more, and if you neglect things on your car you're gona have a bad time!

If you are depending on the NCT to keep your car up to date then that's your problem surely?

Don't all cars need a min. of 1 year service?

I have two uncles who are testers in the nct (both mechanics ) so I must find out from them. They did say there is some serious amount of car going through the system. Even just thing about it people aren't buying new cars so there more cars to test.

I'd be worried about all the cars that would turn to scrap on the road over the two years!!
