I'm finding conflicting information in relation to painting over already painted gloss.

Some say to sand, wipe down, prime, sand again and then gloss coat. Others are saying just to sand, prime and gloss. Even one said to just sand and gloss.

Can anyone offer some tried and tested real world advice? It's for internal doors, architraves and skirting. Thanks.

You just need to sand and re gloss.

    Hi
I would always give it a quick sand with med sandpaper. if however the colour of gloss already there is yellowish in colour it is better to undercoat then gloss. This will bring up the proper colour i would sand as well.
The sanding just gives a key to paint.
