Thanks for the info, just wondering if others here picking up the TV had the same experience?
I have just the reserve number I kindly got off a fellow Boards member.

They should have all the reservation details on their system so as long as you have the code you should be ok.

I ordered one of these and got a txt on the 15th to say it was ready for pick up. Am I going to be charged the 488 or whatever it is now? I wouldnt be one for an argument with the shop so would like to know before I go down? thanks.

As someone else said print off your reservation email and bring it with you. You will be fine.

It's really not a big deal.

Bring the reservation with you. If they try to charge you more than 488 point out the price on the reservation.

Wouldn't have been an issue if you'd picked it up on the 15th as the offer was still on at that stage.

Anyway it's a really nice TV at a really good price so it's worth a little arguing :D

Bring a print out of the email or on your phone, go to the returns desk and you should be ok at the reservation price.

I collected mine this afternoon and the girl on the til asked for the new €687 price.

I said 'no its not' that I reserved @ €488 and she said 'Oh no problem' and proceeded with the lower price.
Your reservation date will be on their system so no worries.

I had nothing with me but a reservation number on a text message on my phone.

stand firm but i cant see it even getting to that.

When I talk about panels it's a 50 hz panel....the 100-200-2500000hz rate sony are telling you is a process rate which is a marketing plot done by every manufacturer which is a real shame as customers are still buying into

Yes I understand the difference between process rates and native hz on a panel. But let me ask - how do you know it's a native 50hz panel. The only evidence I have seen online is HDTV.co.uk's test results which measured 300 lines of motion which would indicate a 50hz panel. But as I have already explained Sony Tier 3 tech support have informed me it's a native 100hz panel.

In any case - Sony are not claiming it's a 200hz panel. They are claiming is has their 200hz motion flow or whatever it's called (interpolation). The controversy on Avforums is over whether this 200hz motion flow is included as there is no option to turn it on or off. However Sony support have said this feature is automatically enabled depending on what scene mode you select.
