I'd go out the odd week night to watch a match, or just have a chat. I wouldn't have more than 3 pints though, maybe 4. Even at 4 I wouldn't be my sharpest the next morning. I suppose I'm not a hard man, but I'm fine with that.

I suppose it depends how much you are willing to put up with. Once I'm not totally dying I don't mind feeling a bit off in work, especially on Fridays. Its a bit harder earlier in the week alright especially as if you are used to coming in hungover Fridays you associate that feeling with Friday, i.e. I'd a fair few last night and I keep thinking today is Friday

I *hate* school night drinking. Hate the tiredness the next day (which I get after even only a few pints) and never really feel fully relaxed.

Great thing about midweek pints at my local is the variety. We had stand up, burlesque and music all in one night last week. We've had jazz nights, silent disco, Mexican wrestling...

A nice Fullers pub in West London. We've had the Bible Code Sundays play a few times as well!

Nothing wrong with enjoying one's own company. Quite often when I don't fancy the chatter in the local I find myself elsewhere.

It's not going out and getting hammered mid week like 10-12 pints on a Friday or Saturday night. Just 4-6 pints on a midweek night and you are grand in the morning

No, I'd be hungover even if I only had two pints.

I rather a few quiet pints midweek than at the weekend. Nice to be able to talk to someone in a normal voice instead of screaming over rubbish music. Mind you, my local is getting less and less people during the week now which is a shame. Cheap beer, nice open fire and some good craic is what makes a good pub for me.

Ballsed after 6 pints and still feeling it two days later , I'd count it as a quiet few pints (as would most people I know so I'm no different), wouldn't bother me the next day at all.

    Yikes.

5-6 pints mid week means your an alco ...... Have ye ever heard such ****e hahahaha

Love the mid week pints usually on a Wednesday to break the week up and especially when the footballs on the pub does be packed,

Speaking of which it's nearly beer o clock, enjoy your mid week pints everybody :)

Depends on the age really,, 10 years ago 6 pints wouldn't register in the morning, 5 years ago...6 pints and would have a groggy head for the morning, now after 6 pints I couldn't guarantee I would turn up in work next day. In fact, I seriously doubt I could get through 6 pints.

Late 30s, binge drinking days are a good few years gone. Wish I had knocked it on the header sooner. Awful waste of money and time.

Be a bit pointless gathering everyone in a pub and then instruct them to Facebook each other.

I think it's more not considering it a large enough quantity of drink.

Well, I'm sure you know that's not what I meant. Just seemed incongruous to mention Facebook in his post. Two totally separate things. That can both be part of your life.

For a woman is it's a large amount of drink. For a 6ft 15st man it's really not especially if you've had a big dinner before hand, soaks alot of it up.

I prefer the Thursday nights myself, it's probably borderline my favourite night to go out. We never got out of the Thursday nights out since college and now the week feels very long if you have to wait until Friday or Saturday to go out.

Honestly I would call 5 or 6 pints "going for few pints" I wouldn't even count it as a night out.

Would need to be 8 pints + and/or spirits on top of it before I say "I was out last night". I'm talking about for a man obviously but I know plenty of women who go drink for drink with the lads all night except it would be wine, spirits or bottles instead of pints.

I'd consider it a large amount of drink of either gender, no matter how tall or how heavy.

Well, medically those factors do matter. It's blood:alcohol ratio at the end of the day. More blood, you can generally take more drink than a person with less all other factors being equal.

I would consider it in the middle, not enough to class as a night out on the piss but just enough to have a laugh get a bit tipsy and not feel to bad in the morning for work , no harm in it once or twice during the week as long as you can afford it

Outside of Ireland, the UK and countries like the Czech replublic it would be considered a lot of drink. It would definitely be considered a rare midweek bender by anyone I know during the week.

8 pints?? Why the hell do people spend so much in bars?? 8 pints is almost 40 euro! I could have 3 very drunk nights out for that much.

Because it's fun and I really enjoy it. There isn't many nights out id spend less than 60 euro never mind 40 euro.
