I know right? They decide to introduce a bad ass fan favourite from the comics, cast it perfectly in the form of Cutty from the wire then proceed to make his sister the badass while he whines about how he doesn't like doing the fence or going on supply runs. The mind boggles.

It really does make you wonder what they have in store (if anything) for Michael Cudlitz's Abraham.

I wish they'd leave Abraham out of it until at least season 5. I wanna see Tyrese grow into who he's supposed to be first.

They later show Herschel with a prosthetic foot. Guess they're allowing him to act as normal.

missed that one, man that must have one epic find for Herschel!

So is the fate of the Samuel's patriarch
Intensity only increases from here guys :)

AMC are pure clowns at revealing spoilers in their promo for the next episode's.I try to avoid them at all costs, although i did see the one they showed at Comic con which unfortunately was riddled with them.

I never watch that at the end of episodes, always turn it off beforehand.

How come the seemingly many soft spots on the roof didn't have any of the many walkers on top of them before hand? It's not like they all fell down the same hole, and it wouldn't have weakened in that weird way just due to numbers.

Some quality bits of Zombie gore though this ep. The guy hanging out of the roof from a tangle of his own entrails, the other lad peeling himself off the ground but leaving half his face stuck there and the guy having the top of his torn off by soon to be Zombie red jumper all stood out.

Overall I liked the ep, moved things along nicely from end of last season, and at least we spared watching them set up a fukking old folks home, wonder what happened the old foagies though

Great to have it back, its like a nice reward for getting through Mondays at work during the Autumn/Winter

lol - she is the waitress who got smacked in the face by Colin Farrell in Intermission.

    Quality zombie gore episode.

So, did Millhouse die suddenly then turn, or turn while alive? Is this just an illustration of why someone needs to be on watch at all times in case people die in their sleep - or something else?

That accent wasn't the slightest bit fake!! Bit of a pointless story though I though?

Loved the gore in this episode!!

For those talking about it, the preview at the end of the episode wasn't for next week's episode; it's the preview for the whole season.

Decent opener alright- was a bit miffed that the Irish chick didn't get to stick around a bit longer though.

Am very curious as to what happened to Milhouse (I like that, even when I find out his actual name I'm gonna stick with that). Reckon he's infected with some new strain of the virus- there was a walker at the start at the fence whose eyes were all bloodied- I thought at the time that was new. Milhouse's eyes were like that in the last shot of him.

Yeh, that's the thing I noticed too - the freaky eyes!

They showed Rick looking at that particular one twice in the episode. Definitely something up there.

Not a spectacular start to the season, but i plan to give it until the mid season break before i start some proper bitching, hopefully I won't have to!

Anyone else when the Irish one said "oh, you call them walkers?" expect her to follow it up with "i call them taytos"?

No he died first, most likely died from typhus or one of the many other malady's associated with living in the sort of third world conditions they live in post apocalypse, then reanimated.

Yeh it kinda was ,they already covered the Glimpse of what rick could become story beat last season with Morgan.

As above its not a new strain of the zombie virus its just one of many the diseases that have reared their ugly head any time Vermin ,waste and humans have congregated in any great numbers down through the centuries Typhus , Cholera , TB etc .

To me it looked like blood vessels in Millhouses eyes had blown(as happens to strangulation victims, here perhaps due to a fit of coughing) which is something we've seen in other Zombies. The walker at the fence on the other hand looked like its eyeballs had gone through some sort of Arnie style Martian decompression and were about to pop out of his eye sockets. I don't see any link there tbh.

Seriously doubt Milhouse's COD will be anything other than zombie virus related.

I think the writers missed an opportunity by not calling that kid Millhouse in the first place. Fair play for whoever made that joke here.

For anyone who's interested in ratings and junk, TWD broke more records on its return... Expect season 5 to be officially announced later this week...

I seriously doubt it will be anything as exotic as that but I guess we'll see next week .

Hope next weeks episode will be better, the writing is still really poor and way too much time spent on relationship stuff.

I love zombie themed stuff and won't stop watching this show but for anyone who's interested in a really good post apocalyptic tv series check out Jericho.

Don't hate on me! It's just the 5-10 mins of action and the rest made up of family therapy scenes is really grating, add in a couple of really good episodes per season and that's how the walking dead rolls. So much potential wasted

The entire last season was spent in the prison with the Governor and I think everyone knows It's gonna go the same way again

Edit: I'm probably being overly harsh, just expected so much more for a season opener

With the dead pig and the dead boar in the wood something is passing from animals to humans then.

The guy at the fence wasn't as decayed as others

So re-watching the episode tonight, because the ads were distracting me last night (I'm in the US at the moment and attempted to watch it live on TV - silly mistake), and I noticed that they made a very big deal about Millhouse getting Daryl to shake his hand at the beginning of the episode!

I hope that Millhouse didn't infect him with his virus germs!
