Their pronunciation was doing my head in.

I was on Countdown, back in the Richard Whiteley days (RIP). I lost to the eventual series winner  ('twas a sort of a fix, but I'm not bitter, not at all.....)

More recently, I survived a F10 in the North Sea, and got my offshore yachtmaster cert out of it - which will mean nothing to most on here, I'm sure, and in practical terms means not a whole pile - but is a very big deal to me :D

Is that like two F5 tornados?

I got my full license when I was 17 years and 8 months old, not bad going.

I get paid a piece-rate, and I once made €38 wages in an hour. Was pretty exceptional unfortunately!

I won not one but two Lego Master Builder Awards from The Lego Builders Club as a child. I was ridiculously proud of this as a child, but thankfully self-aware enough to know that if I mentioned it at school I would have gotten my nerd ass handed to me for the rest of my school days. And no, they're not listed on my CV!

Held and successfully defended the world records for a load of puzzles on jigzone.com for about 6months in college. Had to stop cause it was seriously affecting my college work..haven't even looked at the website in over 10years out of fear it will destroy my life.

    Gan amhras, maybe?

That would no doubt confuse a C4 presenter :D

I got no marks against me in my driving test, the instructor said I was the first person he's ever not had to mark the sheet for anything during the test, he even gave me the clean sheet...sad but I still have it...but I thought I'd never have guts to drive ever, as the very first time I got behind the wheel as a learner some guy crashed into me, he had no brakes & was late for work apparently, assh*le

When I was a kid I worked out the starting point on any number of feet (up to maybe 10 or so) for eeny-meeny so that I'd never pick myself by accident.

This is an Irish forum. I assumed you knew.

Gan Amhras is the horse. It means "without doubt". Gan = without
Pronounced Gone Ow (as in "Ow that hurt", or possibly Aw as in "Aw shucks") and ras as in rasta.

My skill was putting four pennies on the back of my hand, throwing them up, and catching each one separately with the same hand. That is four separate catches, not one grab of all four. My success rate was about one in five as you have to be very fast.

I read years ago that the great Argentine golfer, Roberto de Vicenzo, did the "trick" for a fan, with the fan's coins, put the coins in his pocket, and walked off.

I won the Dublin poetry recital competition at the age of 5 with the poem 'My dog Spot'.

I ran a Tuesday night scrabble competition in a bar I worked in USA. That competition went on for three months and I won. And yes, there were other contestants.
