I've just spotted my old TT is up for sale.

    http://cars.donedeal.ie/cars-for-sale/immaculate-v6-250bhp-audi-tt/5773112

That didn't take too long, I guess he doesn't want to tax it.

Saw that around last week, only remember it cos it was so clean and a 3.2

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,972 ✭✭✭Chris_Heilong

can get a very good deal on 2 new rear tyres but the size is 255/40/18 as opposed to 255/35/18 which is there atm, will this matter really?

I have this size on my car, very smooth over bumpy surfaced roads which was a pleasant surprise.

Yea, it was a clean car, rare enough too. Strange to see it up for sale so soon, maybe he wants to make a bit of money on it.

    That's a lovely tt...definitely not a farmers car!:D

I couldn't pay top rate of tax on a 3.2 though!

    That's because it was a 3.2 with only 250bhp :P

Ha, I bet your car only had 250 bhp for awhile also :)

The main problem is that it's in the same group as the s4/6/8, rs4/6 all the Ms
Having said that it's quicker than the 330 but the extra couple of hundred for tax is my breaking point.

A farmers car it was not :)

You've gotta get over this tax thing, displacement isn't everything.
I'd much rather have an E46 M3 over an XK with a big wallowing V8.

Think more about the car and less about the false economic decisions you're making!

I'll never get over the high end tax.

Bhp and handling are the important factor, but I also want a v8.

    What about an xkr?

    Well what about an old 535, that's a V8?

I do enjoy boost but I'm not the biggest Jaaaaag fan to begin with. :p

Get an old M5, if not then I'd try a S4

I'd go with the M3 myself if I had the choice too.

It's a v8 alright but I'd have an old m5 instead. That extra 100 bhp makes it justifiable in my mind!
Feck all economical difference between both.
Maintenance yeah would be more expensive but for the sake of a few extra mpg I'd take all those extra horses.

Unfortunately I'm a good 4 years off buying.
Classic insurance and all that lark.
I said ages ago the only bmw's I'm interested in was the m5 or 850 csi!
If in 4 years I can't afford one, ah well the alfa will do!:P

    Are you there on holiday?

My car is now making a rather horrible noise definitely something wrong with the suspension. It's intermittent noise not constant, can't replicate it at will, so the mechanic will have fun.

And I'm still afflicted by the plague, feel like my face is the size of the moon :(

Bloody hell, the C5 blew another headlamp. Getting sick of this now. They don't last more than 8 weeks. And they're a royal pain to replace.

I remember the horror of trying to replace the headlamps on the OHs C5, they are a right headwreck.

Some Halfords in the UK exclude them from their bulb fitting service as they take too long :D

Shouldn't be going after eight weeks tho!

Yep! In fairness though I've been at both ends of the spectrum with injuries haha, I'm getting too old for stairs, I found the lift in college today, it's in the last place you'd look
