Frequency bands used by phone networks?

What frequencies do phone networks broadcast on? Is it around the 2.5 GHz band or does it vary depending on the provider?

You should be able to find this information from Comreg - I can't remember myself.

It's definitely not 2.5GHz - this is used for indoor - and outdoor! - wireless communications. It's the range your wireless router probably uses.

You mean the 2.4GHz band right? Yes this is used for routers along with 5GHz.
