Agree that's its unfortunate for the 39 but think of it as great news for the 40 who thought they missed out.

I'm placed 171. I'm disgusted I can't believe this has happened. They should've just interviewed the full 179 at this stage.

im in the 150's.. if it was the hse or dfb of old times a panel of 200 was always formed.

until i get notification that says unsucessful or something definitive like that i'll still loosely cling onto some hope.

with the amount of retirments due, d/o promotions and everyone else having to fill those empty shoes below its very possible we may all get an interview, after all an interview doesnt garuntee a job or panel placement.

it would be crazy to do an entire recruitment process again down the line when they have people ready and willing to jump into an interview.

failing all of that, next time im sitting up the front of the classroom for the next aptitude test and ramp up my psychological warfare during the tests. as anyone will you in the room i was in, there was some serious mind games being played.

I was just a few spots off 140 bit I wont be holding my breath! I was on the panel for the garda since 2008 and that was scrapped last week! They always do things arse ways in this country!

I rang dcc hr today and they told me 179 were remaining

you dont have to tell me exactly, but roughly what number are you? i.e below 120? it will be interesting to see how soon they contact us.

Different competition buddy. 28 for Controller. 25 was for the internal FF.

Sorry badly put Arruabarrena . Ye I understand the 2 different comps but as they were only going to interview the top 100 for 28 jobs and now they are taking 140 , is there a possibility of more positions

Received email this morn...was placed 125 in order of merit and was told correspondence will be sent to address of forthcoming interview...thrilled I got to at least interview but not holding my breath about a possible job at the end of it

Hey lads, these emails people are receiving, are they just the publicjobs.ie messages when you log in (from the PAS) or are they emails from Dublin City Council to your actual email address?

The only message I've gotten since finding out i'm through to the next stage was from the PAS on my publicjobs message board. Never got an email to my email address about the next stage etc.

Any help appreciated!

That was bloody well quick.....received an application form in the post this morning....its in 2 sections, one section for the dcc staff who are applying internally for the FF positions and another section for the comp I applied for (emergency service controller temp)...looking for passport photos and all to be sent with application..
