Congratulations to all who have progressed.

I would suggest not posting your exact number on here.

Someone please help! my publicjobs message said i'm unsuccessful, however I felt I did very well in the exams on the day. Does anyone know are we allowed appeal our results or receive a breakdown on how good/bad we did? all helpful advice really appreciated

Congrats to everyone and best of luck those who proceed to next stage

i felt i done as well as i could also however as i didn progress i can only assume my best wasn't good enough as bad as it sound i put it to you the same applies to you ( and the other 148 of us who didn make it

its all marked on a curve, so the 250 are all marked against how well each other did. So im not sure how an appeal would work given its not a simple pass/fail mark. T

I wonder will the applicants who scored outside the 100 mark who didn't progress to the interview this time be called up in the next couple of months if their's another intake of recruits?

i would think that is a very real possibility especially based on the wording of the email.

October, most likely the 3rd or 4th week. Nothing confirmed.

Oh where did you hear that?!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 400 ✭✭djor88

I'd imagine (purely a guess now) that the interviews will be in 2 or 3 weeks time, i'm sure we'll all find out by the end of next week or early the week after, they'll have to give people a week or so notice of when it is. There'll probably be some sort of detailed application form to fill in before it so they can have something to work with at interview. Just my two cents!

Normally there is an application form to fill out so I can't see that changing. This gives the interview board some information to base some questions on.

did some people get a message to say they were unsucessful? im trying to do a bit of detective work here.

i emailed dcc hr department and they told me they only plan for now to interview the first 100, but have told a number of other people (myself included) that we were sucessful incase they need to draw in extra people, so if all you lucky 100 people get struck down with the plauge or more positions become available in the future.

i suppose i can atleast cling onto the hope that we may get a call and it wasnt a "you were unsucessful at this time"

I'm awful confused. I was ranked 121 after stage 1. Following stage 2 I was feeling confident however I was told I was unsuccessful but was not given where I was placed in the 250 candidates examined.
I rang PAS today to ask where I was placed on order of merit and they said anyone who was not successful is not on any order of merit or ranked.

Does anyone know if it was negative marking? I was told it wasn't going to be negatively marked?

Yeah it was a very confusing message in the way they worded it. They tell u ur successful however ur not being put forward to the next stage, instead ur being put onto a panel. I suppose it's better than a straight no! I'm trying to be positive about the fact that I've made the panel but what's the chances of DFB using this panel or even recruiting again in the near future?

Done very well in stage one and was fairly confident after doin stage 2 but didin't make it to the next stage. I didin't get a number of were I placed, does that mean I done bad and they have just stopped giving numbers out after a certain amount ??

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 222 ✭✭Arruabarrena

179 were successful apparently. The rest weren't given a number per se.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 61 ✭✭thatboy

Its an odd system. Being successful and not being called for interview. Makes you think they may need a lot more numbers in there than the 25-28 they're looking to take on

didn make the top 100 but recieved an email this morn to tell me dcc would be posting out correspondence for an interview, anyone else recieve same?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 373 ✭✭GoProGaming

not yet, but i did email h.r and they told me they would contact all sucessful candidates in time.

you dont have to tell me exactly, but roughly what number are you? i.e below 120? it will be interesting to see how soon they contact us.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 400 ✭✭djor88

Haven't heard anything yet either, I did place fairly well on the order of merit well within the first 100, so should hear something soon. Very all over the place the way they been dealing with it, not very clear on things etc.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 83 ✭✭Dave087

So if you didn't get into the first 100 now you'll still get an interview at some stage?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 87 ✭✭david-d

They just said they're taking up to and including 100 to interview, maybe they're taking an extra 20 or so incase of future campaigns opening up or if people drop out or something? Hard to know

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 373 ✭✭GoProGaming

it seems there was three divisions of results. sucessful 1-100, sucessful 101-unknown number and unsucessful.

very confusing the way they ran it.

That's good news for you well done. How were you contacted? and by who publicjobs or DCC?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 222 ✭✭Arruabarrena

    140 to be interviewed.

Doesn't make much sense at all! 140 to be interviewed? There only is 179 on the panel no point in holding 39 without interview but being successful may as well have gotten unsuccessfully reply. There will be a new panel after the interview aswell ranked on the scoring from interviews so therefore the 39 or so without interview become obsolete!
