Yeah fook Frankie Boyle to be honest. I know I know all this "either its all funny or none of it is" response that I hear so often. Well that is bullsh1t imo, and people like to say it like its gospel, it aint . I find a bit of vulgarity funny, but I just dont like certain topics, well 1 topic in particular, he used to get his shock laughs and I think he's a pr1ck for doing it. Just my opinion

Can't believe Eddie Izzard isn't getting more love on this thread! He's a master of stand up, he goes off on ten-minute tangents from the joke but always comes back to deliver the 'punchline' (if there is one) and does fantastic impersonations. Sometimes he can be quite political or topical, but most of his stuff is genuinely comical.

Always loved Billy Connolly, but I'm not sure he ever recovered professionally from the incident several years back, where he made a joke about the British hostage in Iraq who was being threatened with beheading.....

Dave Chappelle is the only one in recent years who makes me laugh and makes me think.

I haven't watched as much of Richard Pryor as I should have but he is infectious.

Bill Hicks during my formative years led me down the path of questioning. I don't actually laugh at his stuff anymore but I appreciate what he was doing.

Favourite is Dylan Moran, then Richard Prior. Least favourite is Frankie Boyle.

I am not into listening to some bellicose fool engaged in a campaign to push the boundaries of what is acceptable or not. Saw him in Dublin and he seemed to make more effort in being outrageous than he did in making people laugh. There were a succession of Jade Goody cancer jokes. Dull and in poor taste.

Should a good comedian make you think as well as laugh? For me all the best ones can do both

That's funnier than anything McIntyre has ever said.
