On that note, it's the start of the season for most of us, so most clubs are particularly happy to recruit new members around now. There's a decent list of most clubs around on http://www.icu.ie/clubs/index.php

Leinster clubs that cater particularly for kids include Benildus, Blanchardstown, Bray, Elm Mount, Naomh Barróg, Rathmines, and Shankill. That list is by no means comprehensive, and most clubs will welcome children as members.

Actually our players are ex Rathmines and Dublin Chess Club Armstrong, Heidenfeldt and Ennis teams, so we are well aware of this. We are teaching Chess in Clondalkin Library on Saturday afternoons and we are promoting the game in our area, so no one need worry about their patch.

The Curragh Chess Club also have a Junior Club which meets on Sunday Mornings, separate to the Adult club
