What planet is Pat Spollen on? I think if the people at the heads of the bank cared about society then we wouldnt be in the position we are in.

And it's just too easy to say "oh the banks same as everybody else, couldnt see it coming"... As if it was a meteorite that came down and hit a country of decent, hard working, honest people in the banks. The truth is that the people in the banks simply didnt care bout the quality of the loans they were giving, they were getting personal bonuses and that was their only concern..

He's gone all Michael Murphy on us now.. How long before he has the ouija board out on pat's desk.

Are we to believe the bankers (and the AUDITORS) couldn't add up two sets of figures and notice a discrepancey between them? You can bet they had no problem adding up the figures when it came to their bonuses.

Listened to newstalk and pat today for the first time in ages in work. Jesus pat is good, it sounded the same which shows the man is good.

His impartial questioning is just made for radio.
The only presenter to compare to him as regards intelligent questioning is MonCrief on Newstalk.

Things have fairly fallen in to place for Newstalk all the same... Yates back on the mornings, and Pat Kenny on the main show... It's great stuff.. I cant see myself "moving the dial back" for Ronan Collins..

"And what did your wife think when you arrived at the back door, shivering and in your underwear.. Did she think you were just anxious to see her?"

I think Pat is getting even better.. :D

Brendan O'Conner and Pat Kenny joshing each other is enough to make me embarrassed for them both.

Going by the posts in this thread, I finally switched over to see what this New Improved Pat was doing..... only to find Pat doing cringy humour stuff, and sounding every bit as out of his comfort zone as he ever did.

    I think I'll stick to SO'R.

I dont understand the connection between "Gordon Ramsbottom" and artificial insemination? You are aware the insemination is not inseminated through the bottom?

Another thread where you mention "culchies". What's your problem with "culchies"? You obviously find them quite amusing and would consider them a bit thick perhaps? Whereas most of the "culchies" you'll hear on the radio at the ploughing championship are not of the "fur coat and no knickers" type you find all over Dublin city these days....:mad:
You can slag off farmers all you like....

Why was he interviewing Brendan O'Connor? Was he on to plug the return of the fab Saturday night show or what?

Is it just that the word "bottom" is funny, and because the bottom is near the animals vagina ( also maybe funny to you)? To be honest, it's probably funny to many in the 4th form, and if thats why you find it funny, it suggests a certain immaturity, perhaps?

Are you able to explain why you find it funny?

Yeah I thought it was good as well. Very comprehensive covering the show, Brendan's daughter's illness, his own confidence issues with presenting the show..

I enjoyed Brendan O'Connor's chat with Pat today. He was happy to admit they had too many Helen Flanagan types on The SNS last year (who had nothing to say). He also made a reference to the LLS's Illness of the week. I wonder if he ever posts on the LLS thread, to get warmed up for his own show :D
