And we all know what way motor tax rates and petrol is going next month.
Any predictions about how much petrol will go up by?

If you are going diesel you should go the whole hog and get a large engined one. Smoke everyone off the road :D

Everyone? Come on now... We can't abide this fan boi stuff

To me the 530/535D drivers are the modern equivalent of the 1.9 GT TDI Golf brigade, you are now the undisputed holders of the fhest tractor crown, but you will find out what the GT Tiddly diddly Aye drivers found out in time... Petrol is better and Torque is only useful when pulling cattle trailers. It's like saying you are a faster runner than me because you've got big guns - makes no odds unless we are running while pulling wheelie bins full of cement! :D

    Wait until its remapped.

A remapped 535d is the fastest known car to man.

There's so much torque it would blow your face into the side of a tree!!

In other news I have been accepted for formula student

I heard if you tied one end of a rope to the tow bar of a remapped 535D and the other end to the tow bar of a remapped GT TDI you will realise the both have tow bars so must be diesels!! :D

    Wow man congratulations :)

And yes e60 I think you make our that a 535 is in fact in touch with gt racers :)
Yes we have big engined diesels that are fun to drive etc. But compared to a real performance car we'd be **** on.
    I only have the 530d because I do 50,000 miles a year and couldn't touch a petrol!
Their brilliant cars but they ain't no hot hatches :)

Ah I know.. sure I'm just a bit unusual around these parts. A diesel fan in a world of petrol heads.

"Diesel has come to our little world of milk and petrol" :D

I've owned 2 diesels no doubt i'll own another, you are never really a diesel fan though are you ? It's like test transmission said "needs must" so we drive diesels because we have to,i've never met a Dentist fan or a colonoscopy fan.

If you did, I'd guarantee you they'd drive diesels :D

When your first "fun/non-essential" car is a v8 but a diesel v8, and you get a car horn for the tractory diesel sound and schhmmoookkke then yes you are :D

In order to prove that it's yours, you must make or buy a litre of custard and pour it all over the bonnet, making sure to get it into the radiator and air inlet ;)

    Ha ha ha ha

I'll upload a pic of it once I actually take posession. She's gone for some minor work and then will be put through a DoE test.

I'd estimate it won't be sitting in my drive till end of the week at the earliest, depending on the doe date. I have only put on a deposit pending DOE results, not paid in full yet.

    Hi all
What do people think of the following asking prices both from dealers and I know very diff cars but anyway:
    Honda Accord type s 2009 12,900
Focus ST 2006 8,950 has leather recaro interior seems high spec.
Both around 50k miles. I think the asking prices are fairly high?
    Thanks
    Gav

ST sounds expensive considering the price recent ones sold for.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,113 ✭✭✭Gavman84

Ya I was thinking the st be more in region of 6-7 maybe more with warranty from dealer but not a car that's easy to sell.

Or just place a carton of custard on the bonnet as I requested someone to do during their American road trip..............I never did see that picture though
