Was checking out the weekend results on howdidido for many of the local clubs and was amazed when I looked at the results for Cobh from last Sunday. The competition winner had a 2 on the par 5 third hole (stroke index 7) which would give him six points for that hole. Anyone ever heard of anything better,ie an albatross with a double shot on the hole...!!!

I've seen a 6 pointer. Hole in one on Par 4 with a shot. I've had a few 5 pointers. Pretty sweet but you always go missing for a few holes afterwards due to overexcitement :)

Kevin Markham has a handy tip over in the "cliche" thread for adrenaline rushes:eek:

Had a 5 pointer in Mitchelstown made a birdie putt with 2 shots on the hole.

She was a low enough index I think....

I know a guy who had a 2 on the 17th in Lisheen Springs. He had 2 shots on the hole which gave him 6 points

Have had 2 5 pointers in my time.

Both eagles on Par 5s when I had a stroke. Don't have a stroke on any of the par 5s on my home course any more though so would have to hit an albatross to get one now

played with a guy a couple of weeks ago. 1st hole (par 4) in Knightsbrook, 195 yards out, pulls out a rescue and sticks it right in the hole.

nice way to get into the 2's! Captains prize aswell. some shot.

Got my first ever eagle this summer,a 2 on the 1st hole in Castlebarna. Holed out from approximately 120m with a 9-iron from the rough, over some trees and a bunker :D. It was for 5 points. It was a 9-hole competition so it was a fantastic start. Went on to play handicap golf for the other 8 for 21 points, nowhere near good enough to win

As others have said, it does destabilise you a bit....similarly had a 6-foot putt a few sunday's ago to go to -2 on the third hole after a par, birdie start. Got tense and pulled it. if I had started bogey, bogey as normal then I'm sure I'd have rammed it in the back of the cup.

Eagled 9th in ballinrobe for 5 points then birdied 10th for 4. 9 points over 2 holes. 21 points for the other 16

Heard of a pair walking off with 12 points on one hole, A 5 and a 7 pointer!

Happened in the Grange last year during a charity day. Not strictly confirming to the R&A however. As part of the charity day on one hole you had the option of buying a drive off a plus 5 player who was waiting on the tee.

He managed to hole it for a 36 handicap lady and put a second ball in two put range for her 36 h/c partner
