what's the right stuff for the hinge mechanism

silicone spray?
lithium grease?

ac-90?

i'm confused on this cos i thought lithium grease or silicone would be better

doesn't the wd-40 dry out and seize up the mechanism then..no?

I'd go with 3in1 lithium grease spray if it were me. WD40 I regard as a rust buster rather than a lubricant/rust inhibitor.

silicone spray grease.........keeps things moving freely and also protects the rubber seal/strip around the Upvc frame.

Do not use WD-40!!. It is a penetrant not a lubricant and will rust anything to **** over time. It is only design to loosen rusted bolts etc not as a lubricant. Any silicone spray, lithium grease would be fine. Chain oil would work well as its designed to work well in wet conditions over long periods of time. Ideally lanolin if you can find it.
