Buy A tablet or a big phone?

I have A 4" android phone and its fine however with the amount of browsing I do on it the screen can become a little too small for my likings. I was thinking of buying a 7" tablet such as a hp slate 7" or other similar 7" tab and tethering my 3g data plan to it. I can fit a 7" tab in my inside jacket no problem so it seems nice to pull out a tab to do my emails etc on the go.
The other option is to go for a bigger screened phone.
What would you do? Would you find it awkward carrying a tablet and A phone around with you?

If you do go for a 7" tablet, go for the Nexus 7. No other Android tablet of that size is anything near the same value for money.

Personally I have a 4.7" phone and a 10" tablet that I almost never carry round with me on my day to day stuff, but I know plenty of people who swear by a 7" tablet with a phone for tethering.

I have a phone and a Nexus 7. The phone goes everywhere, but I wouldn't carry the Nexus everywhere, it is small enough to stick in a jacket pocket if I feel like I'll be wanting a bigger screen though. If I need a bigger screen still then I'd be taking the ultrabook.

The 10" tablet form factor doesn't fit any niche for me as it's too big to carry around very easily, but it is still just a tablet so if I'm carrying something that big I may as well take a proper machine with a keyboard.

I have a 4.7 inch phone and a N10. I found when I had a note 2 and a n7 I never used the n7.

I have a 4 inch phone and a Nexus 7 (2012). I think I'll get a larger phone, probably the Nexus 5 if it's around the 5 inch mark next. The Nexus 7 doesn't travel with me often but if I'm at home I use it a lot for browsing. It really kills your phone battery tethering the Nexus 7.

It's one of those funny ones that is purely down to preference. If you have no issue carrying a 7" tablet around regularly (allowing for a case probably if kept in bags/pockets) then go for it I say.

I've the Nexus 7 2013 and a Nokia C101. The joys of having a phone that lasts 4 days+ without charging are immense!
