i want to put on a couple of coats of sadolin extra

the door is sheltered from the rain but is it too cold ?

The temp would be ok, id be more worried about the moisture in the air. It may not dry for a while, unless you can open the door back into the house and leave the heat from the House dry it.

You should also use a varnish with some dye in it to stop the wood whitening. Sadolins is good.
