Primary School recomendation in Dun Laoghaire

Hi folks,

I was hoping that someone would be able to make some recommendations on primary schools in the Dun Laoghaire catchment area.
I have a looked for recent posts but see nothing less than about 2 years old on the boards.

Any help greatly appreciated.

Highly recommend the Harold School in Glasthule!

Do you want single sex or mixed? What ethos -Gaelscoil/Multidenom/COI/ RC ?Fee paying or public?
Don't forget -and it sounds mad to even think about it now- but some primary schools feed into particular secondary schools ,so that needs to be considered too.

That's where the problem lies, as both my wife and I are not from the area we do not know which primary schools we need to be trying for, to get the better secondary schools . We do not have a major preference in the type of school, but would prefer it to be multi cultural.

Most schools in urban areas and indeed throughout the country are multicultural -in that there may be children of all nationalities, different religions or none . Some religious ethos school choose to prioritise entrants by their religion, e.g. a Catholic school might give first preference to Catholics, a Church of Ireland school to Church of Ireland children and so on. I work in a Catholic school but we do not use religion as part of our enrolment criteria,
