anyone able to tell me when I should use my wild card? Like in what situation would i use it? Sorry, i'm new to all this fantasy football stuff.
If anyone could tell me what players I should look at for my team, I'd be grateful. currently:
    Cech/Mignolet
    Zabaleta/Whittaker/Ivanovic/lowton/Enrique
    Walcott/jarvis/wanyama/toure/hernandez
    welbeck/soldado/wolfswinkel
    team value: 99.8
    bank:1.5

    thanks.

As was previously said drop one of your keepers for a cheaper one. I personally don't fancy Wanyama or Wolfswinkel. Welbeck is a rotation risk.

Lad you have two expensive keepers which is your first issue. Keep one and get a cheap one for the bench.

Strikeforce isnt good enough either IMO.

You have Ivanovic as Chelsea cover so Cech >>>>>> 4/4.5m keeper and then upgrade Wolf to one of the top strikers.

thanks. So take out wolf for sturridge/benteke/giroud?
    Hows the midfield looking there?

right.. who would you recommend over welbeck ( if anyone?)

and would either of you say use the wildcard.. or will i just do the transfers and take the points hit?

Cech out and Wolf to one of those strikers for sure. Dunno about midfield, Jarvis or Wanyama dont appeal to me think you might be able to get better options in that 5-6m range. Jarvis was quite good at Wolves doesnt seem to have hit form at West Ham and wouldnt tempt me when Carroll is injured(Maiga looks awful to me).

I'm not a Welbeck or Yaya fan but that's just personal opinion, could work out well for you.

I'd say that front 3 would disappoint in alot of gameweeks but there's a decent pool of strikers this year that are affordable.

At the moment Giroud is a must.

Was gonna tinker with my team over next few weeks, but a shocker of a game week and a few other problems lead me to go ahead and wildcard.

Any views on this team would be weclome.

Ps. Hope to get the extra 0.2 from profiting on a couple of bandwagons this week (eg Ramsay)

Team in bad shape, wildcard or make gradual weekly transfers?
If option 2, who to get in over the next few weeks?

I wildcarded a much better(in my opinion of course) team than that this week, that seems to be a very cheap team, how is Coutinho on your bench?
Start widcarding and report your progress, you'll have a great team by Saturday!

Bump! Share the wisdom people? :)

    Burning questions:

Benteke or Giroud, Giroud would give me double arsenal attackers?
Is Arsenal defence in Koscielny still worth it or would Dawson, Spurs or even Collins, West Ham be as good long term? Or would another million on Ivanovic or a Man City player be better?
Best cheapie mid? Will Raval Morrison keep his place at WH? Would Jordan Henderson be worth a punt for Liverpool coverage?

    Cheers.

Haven't wildcarded yet as want to keep it for as long as possible so wondered if current team can be improved gradually over the next few weeks?

Coutinho has not delivered nor have to the over expensive midfielders I have had in the team i.e. Silva, Hazard, Walcott. Time maybe to downgrade midfield to improve strikers and defence where all the bonus points seem to be going!

    FHFC:

Benteke or Giroud is tough one. Maybe you should look at a way of getting in both. Double Arsenal attackers ins't a big issue. I imagine a lot of teams have some combination of either walcott/ozil/giroud. Having watched more of giroud he is looking very confident and having some good touches and vision...on the other side benteke is like a beast. Like i said its a tough one!!

of what i have seen of him Koscielny is a tad bit headless (2 penalties given already almost identical scenarios) but he is at an attractive price and with flamini in the team i think they will be tighter at the back. Kosc is more attacking than mertesacker but I reckon I would go with merte...although he is flirting with a price drop so you could wait until then. Dawson is a good price but I don't know if he is first choice once the work permit of Chiriches is sorted out. I have collins myself and he is a good cheap way of getting into a tight west ham defense. He had a strange game yesterday with some good moments and some comical errors. something i noticed was that he takes freekicks from inside his half to the halfway line where he punted it long on the hope of someone in the box getting a score...so could be a possible assist or two there, also he seemed to be the target of most of the corners i thought. fonte for Southampton looks good too. For an expensive defender i'm having a good points tally from zabeleta, but nastastic looks like a potential bonus point magnet.

Morrison looked ok yesterday nothing to inspire a bandwagon so i can't say much about him. with henderson i think he playing on the right, a position suarez is most likely to take (any liverpool fans can correct me on this) so his attacking potential and game time might be curbed. realistically for liverpool attacking coverage most have gone for coutiniho that is until suarez is back...for a punt/differential moses could be an option. brady for hull is on dead ball duties so he could be worth a few points. ramsey looks regenerated although his prolific scoring maybe short lived, although it is looking liked he is more and more encouraged to run into the box and provide an extra option so you never know.

didn't intend on writing as much but hope that helps.

You could probably get by, but it will take points hits, so I'd also advise to WC.

You will need to upgrade at least 1 defender, and theres an argument to upgrade 2. Dzeko needs to go and possibly Nolan. Bring in one of Benteke or Giroud.

Also, although it didnt cost you, if you have Walcott and Soldado in your team, don't captain Robbie Brady!

To wildcard or not lads? Having a disaster of a season. Think i'll sacrifice RVP to get Benteke, Giroud and Sturridge in

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,274 ✭✭✭✭FHFC

Thanks for the very helpful reply KB.

Moses looks an option after tonight, but, already up to 6.2 so I'm a bit late. Benteke and Giroud be great but hard to do if I'm gonna become and RVPer, which I am tempted by but not certain yet. Only considering him as team value at about 102.4 so I can manage 3 decent mids and a reasonable defence as well, dunno if I'd totally sacrifice either for him.

    Cheers.

PS. That's gonna be the end of people's patience in Coutinho I think!!

I'm no expert but I think I would. I think all three of those strikers will go up another 0.1 or so this week.

RVP is a great player but already Giroud, Benteke and Sturridge showing consistent form. It's hard to justify the extra 4 odd million for RVP

We're only 4 games in though. Can they continue?

This time last season I dropped RVP because he wasn't playing particularly well and then he went on a fantastic run.

I'm giving him a few more games to see.

RVP can score goals from nothing,he's been feeding off scraps due to atrocious service from Young and Valencia.

Kagawa is back fit and Moyes is playing Rooney up with him plus the return of Nani should see him getting better service than what he previously had.

I have RVP,Soldado & Giroud in my team, the only change I might make is Soldado to Benteke.

Kagawa is like Uniteds Andy Reid, every game he doesn't play he gets better and better, methinks some people are in for an awfull big let down.

From an ff perspective Ive always thought it would be interesting if Utd struggled somewhat. As they are the most supported team and ff players tend to have a slight bias towards the team they support when making decisions about their FF team. If Utd struggled a lot of FF players would have to face up to what the rest of us have had to put up with for years.
Its always nicer when a player gets points for you from a team you support.

I rate Kagawa but have to say I agree with your sentiments in this.

Another factor adding to his somewhat cult status is the parody account Evil Kagawa on Twitter which is bringing Kagawa not playing even more into the public eye.

Had to play my wildcard. Any thoughts on weakness in this team.

Mirallas due to drop in price tonight, there's a degree of uncertainty about Kolo Toures place in the Liverpool backs and although I too would love to put Siggurdsson in my team there's also the question of how much game time he'll get, even after the weekends performance.

    Hi folks.

Brain working overtime on the wildcard since somebody tempted me to try and fit Giroud Benteke and RVP in the team.

In relation to comments above re the cost of RVP I am only able to consider him as team value up to 102.4 before the WC, and intended to use Lukaku as third striker to allow a balanced midfield and defence. Now looking at keeping super forward line at least for a few weeks then bringing Lukaku in and improving midfield.

After wildcarding in desperation I'm lucking out with all the price rising going on, would love to say it was a master plan but hope to make 0.5 or so from bandwagons this week.

Draft team attached, would love more feedback. I am thinking of keeping on the Ramsay for another week or so as I think he can rise like crazy given his ownership and the crazy bandwagon momentum, and then switch back to theo in a week or two by downgrading a midfielder/defender or bringing in Lukaku.

    Tanks in advance.
