Just heard an ad on Newstalk. George Hook is doing a piece about GTA V asking what it's effects will be on our children!!!

Should be interesting if not funny.
So any crime here on in is going to be GTA V fault.....
I'm half expecting to hear what the Victorians would have made of it. F****n dinosaur.

My post always arrives early, so I'll probably get the disk in the morning on the way to work. Definitely won't be staying late in work tomorrow
Is anyone who hasn't got it yet, going to read the reviews once they come out this afternoon? Or are you going to hold out for the few remaining hours?:pac::pac:

At this stage I'm avoiding all reviews.

Expect a lesser review from Gamespot. I seem to recall them having some sort of conflict with Rockstar some years back and when San Andreas (I think) came out they gave an underwhelming review (the reviewer was very monotone and acted like it was any other game) with a lower than expected score.

And I seem to recall people were really hyped for the Gamespot review at the time as it was one of the last.

Same here, I'v Boards priority and 24hour delivery on mine.

There probably flat out trying to pack orders, Their site might not be updated yet either and the An-Post tracking number will only come up a few hours after they receive it.

    Hopfully it'll come tomorrow!!

I was thinking of doing the same. Do I need to buy any cable for connecting the PS3 to a HDTV TV?

Im perplexed how you have come to this conclusion, It is not and never has been Amazon that have driven 'Hype' around any console games that have ever come out. Why do you think this is the case ? realistically if Amazon stopped selling games in the morning do you think this would impact the marketing and route to market of console games?

Because it wouldnt. Amazon wasnt always around and doesnt drive the industry. And gamers will buy there games from whereever they can at the best price they can.

I know people who have bought games randomly based on 'here's what other people bought' and reading reviews. How many gamers would be going on to look at Saints Row to pre-order it, and see a GTA in the 'what others bought' section, think to themselves 'ah yeah, i forgot about that, i'll pick that up to tide me over in the meantime' etc. etc.

Amazon's convenience also makes them very popular.

    Amazon don't need Rockstar.

    A. HDMI cable is all you need. Should be able to pick one up cheap enough, don't let them sell you a dear one there is no difference.

Rockstar don't need Amazon either. I doubt the number of people who have only bought GTA V because of seeing it on their website is even slightly significant. You may have a point about other Rockstar games but even then I'm sceptical.

The whole point with online purchasing is that it removes a huge chunk of the browsing over potential purchases which bricks & mortar attracts. You know what you want, you go online and you buy it wherever is cheapest and will get it to you the most quickly.

GTA V is the biggest entertainment launch of all time. Rockstar carry a huge amount of clout these days.

For anyone wondering about their Gamenash order saying "Packing" over the weekend and that, they are only getting their stock on Monday morning, and to ensure that you get your game on Tuesday, they started labelling envelopes and processing orders on Friday so that when they receive the games, they only have to pop them into the envelopes and seal them. then they will be sent out to you and you will receive them fresh in the post on Tuesday morning and not a minute late.

Tried hooking up my hdmi cable to the x box, but when I tried tuning it in on the telly it didn't work, so back to using scart:(

you dont need to 'tune' it in. HDMI picks up automatically.

Maybe you have your TV set to an output it can not support?

Go to system settings - > Display (Whilst on scart) there should be a tick box to auto detect best signal, see how you get on and report back?

Your sure your on the HDMI Channel on source? :)

You tried the source button on the remote to find the hdmi channel?
