You'll be glad of it as you get older, go with it!

People are generally shocked I'm as old as I am. I like it :D

Same as that, 30 now, people who don't know me never believe me. Still get asked for ID on occasion.

I'm twenty but people always mistake me for being a lot younger my whole life. Told I looked 16 once! I carry my age card round everywhere since I know I'll be asked for it! Everyone keeps telling me how lucky I am and how grateful I'll be when I'm older, but I don't care about when I'm 50 years of age someone saying I look 45!:pac:

Good news if you look younger than others think you are. ;)
People blessed with youthful faces are more likely to live to a ripe old age than those who look more than their years, work shows.
Danish scientists say appearance alone can predict survival, after they studied 387 pairs of twins.
The researchers asked nurses, trainee teachers and peers to guess the age of the twins from mug shots.

The whole 'you'll be grateful when you're older' thing does come across as a bit patronising at times. I'm early twenties and look pretty young. Sometimes when a group of us go out I'm the only one asked for ID, you have to be able to laugh it off but inside i'm fuming!

Poor ol' Dathi O' Sè is one of the unfortunates who looks far far older than he actually is - he's only 37 according to wikipedia.

Definitely a compliment. I'm 26 and people say I look early 30s. Pricks.

Might be because you live in a trash can and act like a grouch...

/for anyone not aware of his avatar, look at his avatar....

i went from looking about 12 to looking very grown up, very weird for me when I hear people predict my age right, or even add a few years.

When I was17-18 people often thought I looked a fair bit younger, but after a certain period of time age does catch up with you. People always seem to guess my age right these days.

    And yet so modest! :D

It's hard to be modest when you're as great as me! :D

I've been asked for ID in states while being in my thirties, I found it funny at first but it did grow old.

I had a guy purposely come over to me in a bar and say do you mind me asking how old you are, you look about 16 and shouldnt be here...he said it laughing/joking so I dont know whether he was making fun of me or if was a chat up line, dont know which would be more creepy, im 25.

It's not great to still look in your teens when you work in the healthcare industry...you get a lot of patients looking at you warily.

Don't mind when people say I look young and I expect to be asked for id everywhere I go but its the cnuts who come up to me in a bar and start acting the prick that are especially annoying. Middle aged women seem to be a terror for this. "Does your Mammy know your out?" etc.

Was at a stag do recently and most of the young fellas in the pubs and nightclub looked like it should be a milk bottle they should have instead of a pint.

Girls seem to look older around that age, all the lads were getting stopped going into the club but not as many of the women.

I'm 38 and look every bit of it unfortunately.

My sister in law is 29 and regularly gets asked for ID in bars.

A couple of years ago when she was about 25-26 she was at a swimming pool and the lifeguard told her that she couldn't go into the pool unless accompanied by and adult. She lives in a rented flat and when cold callers come to the door they ask her if her mammy and daddy are home.

She gets a bit pissed off by it but when flying back from the states a few years ago the air hostess took pity on this poor little girl flying on her own and brought her up to first class.

It's a compliment I guess but gets annoying at times. I got asked for ID buying a lighter recently. And a woman called to my door and asked "is your mammy home?"

For the record I live alone and I'm 25. Slightly humiliating.

That happened to me when I was house sharing in college. It was the college librarian that came to the door...

Yup. Myself and the missus have had that there and in the UK. It's quite surreal.

Mind you, mrs old hippy actually does look much younger.

I don't know why people think it's a compliment to look young. The older I get the wiser, more sensible, more knowledgeable, more self-assured and wealthier I become. I'm cool with looking exactly my age. I wouldn't be < 21 again for all the tea in China.

I general, older people are better people.

I rarely get ID'd going into a club apart from the one where the check every single persons. For me, it has nothing to do with age, it's because I am sober and probably don't look like I'd cause trouble.
