I was driving a 1.0 litre polo today. Christ almighty it has 0 bhp! 45mph and it's calling it a day, 65mph is like 130 in the 530d!

The GF's was like that when we got it first. 250 euro buys alot of parts, wheels balanced and the tracking set and it's good as new. Still shockin slow though but will get up over 80mph (eventually).

    Anyone going to Soundgarden tomorrow?

I drove my old polo the other day and quickly hopped back into my alfa afterwards thinking **** it, 10 mpg and I'd be happy!:)
Polos have to be the worst of the superminis.

50bhp vs 200bhp? Of course it would seem like that. :P

Drive mine on motorways all the time, it's not so bad. :)

Had fun collecting cars over the weekend. :D

It handled very like a shoppin trolly before it was fixed up. Don't know how to describe it now... A natural born ditch finder. Worst handling, gearbox clutch brakes and acceleration of any car I've ever driven. The interior build quality isn't great. On the plus side the boots pretty big and it's cheap to fix up .

I had cars like this though with my mk3 golf etc. Just its a shock when you drive something like that again, Not that mine is a missile or anything.

In other news, im off to Beijing and Dubai next month. The latter should reveal some nice cars, though im only there for 2 days.

Yep we have them on our Insignia :P:pac:

Look the part though when you don't have a cable tie on them!

The looked like alloys to me. Maybe the cake of dirt/brake dust is hiding the steely.

the steely is the shape of the cover

    Better strap those alloys on....

I posted the exact same thing a year or so ago and got told the same thing. Mine was of a Mk 6 golf and I've found out you don't need cable ties as the wheel bolts hold the cover in place.

Mine is booked in to Frank Keanes next Monday and I'm getting a courtesy car. Nice:)

    Hmm dilemma

I've come into a small and unexpected bit of cash, (very small lads, haven't won the lottery or anything), but it means I've a small bit of cash to upgrade the car.

The windfall is small enough, but selling the gtv and combining it after putting a bit away means I could upgrade from a 00 gtv to an 04 gt.

    Thoughts?
