Where would you deem a safe place to put them, away from the kids? And then go to the bottom of that thought list and they will prob be there.
Failing that, look for a biscuit tin.

Antrim I'm so sorry to hear that. Not a nice way to be thrown back into dairy farming. If I knew how to milk I'd be up there like a shot but I don't so hopefully the dairy men (and women) on this forum can be of some help.

Have you the curtains pulled and in a dark room like myself today doing the accounts. I taught we were starting to use less and less cheques, fat chance, stack of the feckers here. Lakill how do you put up with such a job.

Never thought I'd be back milking cows and not under these circumstances. Family member and his labourer were both killed on Friday evening and the uncle has no family. 140 cows to milk and none tail taped or no board up so no idea what stage of lactation any are at. Milk tank was sampled yesterday but going to have to sample them all individually this evening. Any dairy people any advice as we don't know yet what the plan is short or long term. Trying to find a reliable relief milker asap.

Sorry to hear of your troubles. Hope you get it sorted out somehow.

hard to know really, collies are supposed to be good for kids. Stay well away from king charles, staffs and bulldogs.
Im a huge fan of jack russells. great for pest control around the yard and have no fear. Some of them can be a little contrary against kids. female russells are lighter than the males and not as chunky. My jack russell is a real pet. loves being outside and chasing/ being chased by the calves and the like and as soon as it gets dark is a pure lazy git and tries to take over every couch.
She is great with kids and insists in travelling everywhere with me in the van/tractor

was a collie- lassie type- that attacked her, would we be better going for a pup or an older dog?

I'll PM ya the details of a woman local to ya that rescues dogs and is a dog behaviourist. She's on Boards too. I know nobody that knows more about dogs. If she can't help ya, nobody can!

was thinking about this, my dad has it drummed into me to write all treatments down in dairy-have a book- also white board in parlour and spray and tape, he always says, you never know what could happen from one milking to another, posts like antrimglens make you think
