Yeah you being a rocker makes it a compliment, to everyone else your friend would just be a strange creep but hey who are we to judge? I wish you both the best.

....and if so, what's the weirdest one you've ever been given?

I was told by my friend the other evening (while I was all done up for a night out) that I looked like I "should be hanging off Jim Morrisin's c*ck".

Now, he meant that I looked hot,
but I didn't really like it.

    How do you know that?
If someone told me I looked like some groupie that would fellate a rock star at the drop of a hat I sure as hell wouldn't take it as a compliment.

And Edenhazard - he isn't a creep, as I said before so you can stop with the personal stuff. I asked for opinions on what he said not him. Actually, I asked if anyone else had been given weird compliments. As for the "best of luck to both of you" rubbish, that's just being patronising. As my very lovely friend would say, "slide on....."

Meh. I still reckon there's no need for him to call people "creeps" or "losers" just because they don't measure up to his standards of dress or conversation.

One of the exes said I wasn't a bad kisser "for a white guy".

Some guy said that my beard was really cool and "reminded him of his ex girlfriend".

A girl said that I was "hot but not as hot as my girlfriend".

I take it you have fond memories of the threesome that followed

When I am congratulating females I say "You're a horse of a woman"

A colleague recently took offence to this.

Once a guy told me I was a fine, big, strong girl. He was around my age too. I have to say I got some laugh of making him think he'd upset me, we had a good laugh about it afterwards.

I once told a girl that she look like she'd "started getting ready to go out, then stopped"

it was only after i'd said it i realised how bad it was...but in fairness she looked good until you got to her feet and she was wearing a dirty pair of uggs.

    She wasnt impressed.

The old "you scrub up well" line is a classic compliment/insult.

It's nearly always usually said in a playful enough way that it's firmly in compliment territory though but still... there's room to manoeuvre there if you were so inclined!

I get told this almost every time I wear a suit. Not a compliment in my opinion.

I get this one a lot. My own fault though, for being a scruff bag on a normal day. When I do make the effort, everyone says it. I take it as a compliment.

A number of women have said to me that, for someone so well endowed in the pants department and so obviouslly good-looking, I'm a fabulously gentle and generous lover.

Thought that was kinda nice of them.

A back handed compliment is no compliment at all...

"you look like that one, bridget jones" leaving whelans one night... that means the dude had beer goggles on :( shudder to think what he would have thought of me sober :(

OP, that is the weirdest "compliment" I've ever heard.

I've had several "eh, was that a compliment or an insult?!" moments, but never anything quite that weird :pac:. Most recent one was being compared to Taylor Swift... and my favourite one from years ago: "If I had friends, you'd be one!" from a random guy on the street.

You sound just like the skangers that used to shouted "smelly rockers" at me and my friends when we were 14. (Never mind that we smelled far cleaner than them... :D). Are you 14? If not, it may be time to grow up a little and understand that not everyone likes to dress the way you do...
