Exactly, there is nothing worse. Coleman had the same problem last year but that was more understandable, Rose would be fantastic as a defender.

Thought so.. I was trying to think if there was any benefits of having him.. came up with a blank

Soldado scored for Spain last night, on top of his 4 goals in 4 starts for Spurs it's hard to see why he's coming in for criticism here, that and the fact that he is in the Spanish team. I really think he's going to score an awful lot of goals this year.

I had RVP in my team - Now I'm wondering if it's worth it

Giroud / Benteke / Soldado with the option of bringing in Sturridge if he continues his form.. Also Lukaku if he does well..

Could fix issues in my team that were annoying me :o

I agree spurs have only scored 2 goals in 3 games thats not going to last. No champions league to worry about either. Spurs have such a big strong squad that AVB can put out a totally different eleven in the europa league and go all out to get the top 4.
Ive a feeling the likes of mirallas, coutinho, soldado will come back to bite a lot of us wildcarders over the next couple of weeks . Of the 3 ive only kept soldado but plan to get mirallas back in a few weeks when I see how everton line up with the new signings.

I've yet to really look at my final wildcard team but barring something drastic happens i'm almost certain coutinho will be in there, he's been excellent the couple of times I've seen Liverpool, on the opening day he was very unfortunate not to have a 12+ points haul, he hasn't been scoring big FF wise but has been playing very well, the points will come. Liverpool have decent fixtures and with the arrival of moses we might see coutinho move back to a more central role. i'll be keeping soldado too.

Soldado has had 7 shots on goal in 270 mins of football, 2 were Pens and three others were off target, I'm not sure what player others have been watching tbh, I wouldn't write him or Spurs off but there will definitely be a settling in period and he has looked lost at times and Spurs have definitely missed Bale's creative flair and cutting edge, as any team would.

He scored twice in his one European match and again last night for Spain. Of course there is a settling in period but a lot of that should be behind them now, there's no guarantees but I still think he's good value in comparison to some others, it's very likely that Spurs will score 25 to 30 more goals than the likes of Villa this year, he will be the focal point of their attack.

I've transferred him out so I expect him to score at least two this weekend.

Did he previously play with someone up front at his old club? I'll be the first to admit I know very little about the lad (I barely get time to watch English PL football without trying to watch Spanish as well) but he looks to me like a lad who is struggling up ront on his own.

Perhaps Lamela will come in and get forward a bit quicker and provide some support but I just thought Soldado has looked like a player who is isolated and needs a partner up top.

Any suggestions for a forward for this week, budget is 8.2 and I've already got Soldado and Benteke.

I'm considering Welbeck, Berbatov or Lambert. This will probably be a one week move as I may wildcard next week depending on results.

My thinking is that I'd probably be best off with Welbeck as I can see Palace getting a pasting.

If it's only for one week, I'd go with Wellbeck.

He missed the second England game through suspension so has had a nice long rest too.

I've watched all Spurs league games so far and I really think it's just been the lack of attacking mids to link up with, he's had to come deep to get the ball a lot but still shown that he's the type of player that will suddenly pop up at the right place at the right time. Keeping him instead of completely destroying my mf to get RVP in for him.

I had Dzeko to worry about this week so he was priority but Soldado is next, 100% unless he does something this weekend.

I've had Soldado from the start and he's been pure tripe! Spurs have been rubbish too fwiw. Apart from his 2 peno's, Soldado has not looked like scoring once.
Lamela may have an impact on Soldado but the way AVB plays i wouldnt bank on it.

Does anyone know how spurs will line up v norwich.
I'm thinking of getting in Eriksen, he looks a great buy but will he have trouble getting into the team straight away?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,748 ✭✭✭Swiper the fox

I'd be pretty sure Eriksen will come straight into the team, he may even play in the hole, personally I think Lamela will be a more fruitful ff player but Eriksen could be good value

    Lloris
    walker vertonghen dawson rose
    dembele paulinho
    chaldli eriksen lennon
    soldado

Decent price so I'll be watching him play for Spurs and consider bringing him in.

    Where's Lamela?

    That's what I thought.

Also Townsend has apparently been Spurs best player this year so far.

I also don't think Lennon will be keeping his place from what I've heard off some Spurs fans.

Lamela late back from international duty and Siggurdsson was injured was the team news i had heard from Spurs sites yesterday.

I don't see how Townsend or Lennon can be accommodated as things stand, I really wish they had sent Andros out on loan.:(

Will AvB really throw all these new signings in tomorrow though? Some of them are only returning from international duty and I'd imagine have barely been at White Hart Lane since they signed.

Just replied to you on another thread in a similar vein:cool:.
Eriksen looks certain to start, Lamela less so after internationals.
Lennon isn't ready so it'll be either Townsend or Lamela, formation is up in the air, so hard to call with all the newbies, I'm sure AVB knows and he'll have Spurs scoring for fun in a few weeks:p

Anyone here seen Stokes new player Marko Arnautovic play? I know he came on against our lads last Tuesday night, but I was nearly asleep at that stage watching it, Lol at the title of the YouTube clip

Going to add him to my watch list

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 16,305 ✭✭✭✭Mr.Prodston

^^ I've seen the Zlatan comparison bandied around myself :pac: I'll keep an eye on him alright but unless he sets the world alright it'll take a few weeks of encouraging signs I think. Sounds like the type who could either score or get a red card

no way Lamela starts this weekend IMO.

i think Eriksen has a half a chance, but i'd say it'll be more likely from the bench.

Arnautovic is insane. He'll end up punching Hughes or a team-mate, or getting sent off for something or other soon.

In fairness to Hughes he has no problem dealing with difficult personalities. Take Bellamy, for example, he had his best season of football at Blackburn, despite various problems off the pitch.
