Freesat box with EPG to rival Sky

Hi folks,

Are there any Freesat boxes out there with an EPG in the same ballpark as the Sky EPG?

ie. responsive and not filled with different versions of the same channels etc.

Something that could be set up to be simple, smooth and easy to navigate?

We're moving into a new house at the weekend. Our tv has a saorview tuner built in so I've no problem using that for the irish channels. What I want is a high quality Freesat DVR that I can plug into the existing sky dish that will be better than the horrible UPC EPG we are leaving.

Have one of these. Best out there imo. Only box with G2 EPG to best of my knowledge. Expensive but will pay for itself in jig time if you have dropped Sky

Best to bear in mind <free time> is not available in RoI and never will be, so don't buy it for that feature.

The ITV player works, none of the others do.

It's worth it for the flashy EPG imo. Not sure what freetime refers to. If it is catch up.services
I have access to all catch up services using VPN

. I think likes of ITV and channel 4 players are available from Ireland. I think.

That said a bit of forward planning for recording and series linking etc means that catch up services not really needed in my house

Are you referring to Freesat receivers or the the on demand players?
