Are Samsung TVs bad quality?

    I went into Harvey Normans today with a plan to buy a new TV. I was looking for a UE40F6400 3D smart TV.
    They didn't have it in stock, but the sales guy immediately went on a rant about not buying a Samsung as they have poor picture quality and keep breaking.
    He told me that I should go for a Sony instead - KDL-42W650A or an LG - 42LA620V or 42LA690V.

    Anyway, I went in to buy a TV and left without one as I was not going to be bullied into getting something I hadn't researched.

    Was I given some sound advice or was I just bul****ted by someone who was pushing me to buy something he was trying to sell?

    The real problem with Samsung is the shocking variability of their TVs.

    Even within a given model, I've seen TVs that look great value for money & others that should never have cleared QC in the factory.

    The bottom line is that you need to checkout the display in the shop you're buying from, fed from a proper source, & decide for yourself if the picture is acceptable.

    And once you're satisfied that the picture is acceptable, make sure your tail is well covered by a good warranty for the life time of the TV.
