No interest in seeing his return built up after all his gesturing for a move this summer.

He needs to come back, keep his nose clean & score us a plenty of goals. The affection for him is gone, from me anyway. As someone described him recently, hes just a commodity now.

It's all business with Suarez for me.

Until he hits the back of that net. Then, you know. The feelings.

He could be the difference in a top 4 challenge.

    Simple as that for me.

As expected Neil Critchley has taken over the role of U18 coach. The Crewe man was targeted some time ago and comes with a very high reputation for his "interfacing" abilities. He replaces Steve Cooper who only took up the role last summer from Mike Marsh.

Suso highlights from last night, thrashing some poor unfortunates. Signed for Liverpool as a No 10, recently for Spains U20 he has been in the "Alonso" role. For Almeria he's been switching between the flanks and last night he was on the right, so it'll be interesting to see where he ends up. By the end of the season I'd hope everyone will know his best role.

The general reaction seems to be that he was one of the best in the game

I'll be honest, I am excited at the idea of him returning. He is the best player in the league so it's kinda hard not to be. The fact that his 1st game back is against Utd just makes it all the more exciting.

I've lost alot of respect for him over the last few months but I'm sure he will put the head down and continue to show why he is one of the best players in the world.

Well the reaction from the crowd towards him during the Man U game at Anfield was very subdued compared with how he was cheered at Anfield during his Evra ban.

He got some cheers and chants, but nothing like the full on affection he received the last time he was banned.

I know a lot of regular match goers who see him as just another player now, a world class player but one who is leaving. My own take is something along those lines as well.

He will still get cheered when he does something good on the pitch, and the crowd will still back him when he is getting shyte from defenders imo, but no more than they would for any other player.

Our best player? Yep and don't think there is any doubt there. But the manner in which he sulked and pouted over the summer, along with the idiotic bite, has seen any remaining mystique removed.

I hope he comes back and has the form of his career until we sell him in January or next summer. That way we will have whatever number of extra months watching a top class player at work, and the fee we get for him may be increased if his form attracts a number of clubs unlike this summer when only one club was willing to even bid for him.

Liverpool defender Kolo Toure has taken pity on a dimwitted fan who had the defender's name wrongly tattooed on his foot... by offering to change his name

The red-faced supporter was impressed enough by the Ivorian's performances following a summer move from Manchester City that he decided to have the Toure's name permanently inked on his body - only to discover the tattoo artist had misspelled it as 'Kolo Touro'.

The veteran centre back became aware of the botched ink job after the fan's friend outed him on Twitter and, perhaps touched by the thought, responded to suggest the most obvious solution - changing his name to Touro!

While the defender's remark was clearly made with his tongue firmly implanted in his cheek, Toure did suggest he would do something to make the fanatical fan feel less sorry for himself.

In a second tweet, the 32-year-old not only offered to meet the hapless fan but wear 'Touro' on his shirt - perhaps he will do it for a single game in tribute to a foot that is likely to be a constant cause of embarrassment.

It is not known whether the tattoo artist responsible was in fact a closet Everton fan!

Toure is currently out injured after hurting his groin in the Capital One Cup tie against Notts County at Anfield.
He had impressed in Liverpool's opening two games of the season, the 1-0 wins over Stoke and Aston Villa

I dont watch a huge amount of pool games but i always thought you played better without suarez, and havent the results been better without him?

Without him,IT seems a lot more players step up to the plate.

You don't watch many pool games but you still think we play better without Suarez?

Not much sense in that post, but we've been down this road before. Carry on.

The sample of games to base that on is quite small, but you would be correct to say that over that period of missed games the average PPG is higher than that of the games he played in.

You might well be right about his absence causing/allowing other players to step up to the plate

Would really need to have a much larger sample of games to go on though.

Here's the problem Orange....you're watching baseball.

On Suarez, I have no issue with him. The guy is better than where we are at now and it was a joy to watch him play week after week. As said before loyalty should be a two way street and if we are happy to ditch Reina/Skrtel when they dip in form or we get someone better we should take it on the chin when the player decides to move on.....unless it's to arsenal.

The sample size is small, true, but iirc there is a c.20% difference in win% without Suarez which tends to back up the stat. A 5-10% difference could easily be accounted for by randomness and sample size but a 15%+ difference is strenghtening the probability that the stat is true.

Then again, its been all dead rubber matches so far this season :-D

I think as he matures, his best position is as an advanced CM. Definately better central where he can spray the ball around (a la Fabregas), hasn't the pure pace to be a winger, but he does have the tricky feet.

I think if you pair him with a true #10 and a DCM, he'd work well. But he needs more top flight games in that position. In our current team, he'd be in Gerrard's position...

Any word on Joe Allen? Just watching Wales playing now. Would be handy to have him back for the United game so we can rest Gerrard/and or Lucas.

I agree he showed the club little regard in the summer and cant expect much love in return
I hope Rogers can manage him well this season and it doesnt become a disruption to the team

Are you mad? Why would we rest either of them? It will have been over 2 weeks since the last time Lucas will have played and nearly a week since Gerrard has played.

We haven't seen enough of this from Stevie in a red shirt lately. Nice hit though.

Is Gerrard carrying a kilo? ;)

He had a good game overall, that Danny "England goal machine" Welbeck is now banned for Tuesday might mean a bit of pressure is put on Sturridge if he is 50/50
