Sad to see "The Golden Bear" retire, one of the greatest golfers of all time, among the longest and straightest hitters on the PGA Tour during his prime, record for the most wins at The Masters with six, and The Players Championship with three.

    ****ING GUTTED I AM!!!! :(

    WILL MISS YOU JACK!!! :(

WE'LL ALWAYS HAVE THE MEMORIES!!!

Wow he did all that AND had time to be an actor? Truly we will not see his like again.

Wonder who the next old-age celebrity actor will be next on the line in the papers to have some form of memory lose..

Hello, Sean Connery has Alzheimer's, and is pretty bad with it apparently.

    Jack doesn't sound so bad.

No, he doesn't. Neither of them are sick. They are malicious rumours made up by piece of **** "reporters" who would be better off with some cyanide in their nose. :)

That film is supposedly based on James "Whitey" Bulger.
Either that, or the superior Asian film it ripped off. Sorry, 'adapted'. ;)

Nicholson apparently did base some of his character on Whitey, though.

cause he wasnt even in the bloody film.....:p:D

    He was in Mars Attacks.;)

    Shows what you know.

In Independence Day, he played Will Smith, playing a pilot.

Didn't even notice he hadn't released a film in three years. I'd guess a lot posting here didn't either. He had a good innings, but as the same character over and over.

There's a few more of his vintage should hang up their scripts.

One of my favourite actors, loved all his movies. Will be sorely missed on the big screen!

Well it can happen you know.
It isn't just poor unknowns that get things like Alzheimers or suffer from dementia.

    Just look at Glen Campbell.
At this stage he probably can't sing "By the time I get to Phoenix" because he will have forgotten where he was going when he started.

It would be good if movie actors knew when to retire at the right time. Look at Bruce Willis and Robert DeNiro. Both have effectively become caricature of themselves!

He has an uncredited part playing one of the aliens. He's easy to spot when you know what your looking for.
