So, my aksium rear wheel had a tragedy and ended up with a snapped rim. I've found a Cole 24-hole rim which is 19mm wide and 24mm high. This compares with the aksium rim being 20mm wide and 22mm high. Question is, will I have the extra 2mm of thread on my existing spokes? I can't find the erd info for either rim. Most of the spokes are fine though one or two were twisted in the tragedy so if anyone has a worn our rear akisum I'll happily take a few spokes...

might be cheaper just to buy another wheel. some of the mavic rims have extra reinforcement at the spoke holes to support high tension, dont see them on that rim, must be an old model

cant see if that cole rim has eyelets, if it doesnt its probably 3mm spoke length difference

The cole rim has eyelets and should take the tension as a 24-hole rim. Costs only GBP28 delivered, I won't get a new wheel for that. I'll have to get a couple of spokes too though.

I'll check out that CSS rim, might talk them down a bit...

Ah no, I'm grand for the moment thanks. If I can do this one up for small money it'll be a bonus, otherwise I'll build a custom set in a while...
