I've said it before and I'll say it again - Bebo was class. It gets far too much slagging IMO. It allowed for more creativity and customisation than Facebook. It had problems (spam and porn accounts being the main) and didn't adapt enough when Facebook introduced better functionality. A lot of that seems to have been caused by the takeover...

On a related note, Ireland gets a mention on the new Bebo FAQ:
From 2005-2008, Bebo was one of the most exciting tech companies in the world. It was growing rapidly to over 40 Million members, and in countries like Ireland, Bebo was more popular than Google.

    Heh. Exactly what MySpace said...twice.

Sometimes i just hate the world!
To get rid of such an Elegant bird. Things i may never get to experience. One of the most beautiful 3 man made sights in the world.

We as humans just need to look at this. And remember we are marvellous creators to create such a magnificent master piece

I find it amazing how the mind works. I was in bed yesterday as people do but was on edge while sleeping. I'm always cautious of people walking in on me specially depending on what I'm wearing which can rage from all or nothing. I have gotten to a stage where it's nearly impossible to wear a T-shirt at night if I choose to wear underwear even though no one will see I still don't want anyone to walk in but yet if I choose to wear shorts I have no problem who walks in. I mean their practically both the same.
Can anyone, looking at lCers explain this.. it's just weird being shy based on clothing.

Its probably just me. But it drives me insane when people keep saying there going up south* or down north*.(*referring to a location or north or south). I mean you're violating English and geography imo. yet nobody gives two fiddlers. yet if you did something not half as confusing they'd lose their lives.

Most people tend to interchange between sea-level, geography and major towns when doing this.

So for example, I live in North Cork so it's:

Down to Limerick because we're higher than Limerick sealevel wise.
Up to Dublin because it's a city ("Up to da big shmoke!" etc) and it's North of us.
Up to Cork because it's a city.
    Back to Tralee.
    Over to Waterford.

    :P

That just drives me insane :( , i wouldnt be going on sea level cause i dont know the altitude of each town. id use it from the point of where i am in the world. But i do agree with 'over' such as over to dublin or over to tip. but its down to cork up to Galway and Over to the United States of Amurica
Dont know how to use back in a correct sentence. like when speaking to someone its back home to clare. but i say the same in clare for dublin back to Dublin. I'd swear i was just reversing all over the country

If I was a proper drinker I would long be gone. Too many life problems up and down and a weak mentality that's badly needed. As one song I like goes I'm more scarred, more scarred than my wrist is!

Was sitting outside work the other day on break having a smoke and there was a group of old guys sitting near me. A group of muslim women passed by and they were all wearing those full length things with the faces covered. One of the old dudes started (very loudly) saying " them are the people setting off all the bombs over in london, that muslim crowd"

I was sitting there and i couldn't help but think that twenty years ago over in london if those old dudes passed by a group of old people in they'd be saying the exact thing about us

"oh look at the paddies passing, off to blow up another street, damn paddies"

of course this didn't occur to the old dude and he continued moaning about the women.

Work is shít at the moment and I'm doing insane hours, but my manager told me that as soon as the position becomes available he's going to try and get me a promotion. The only problem is we don't know when that'll be. Definition of a yaarrghh.

At least you know it's coming though. :)

Has anyone here ever done a Skype interview? Have one on Thursday morning for an internship in The Netherlands and... well, to say I'm nervous would be to greatly understate it...

Wear pants. I heard of someone being asked about something on their CV and they got up to get it and yeah, showed the interviewer their tighty whiteys!

    Bahah! :D

Well it's on in the college so I think I'd probably be more embarrassed before hand if I was just in jocks... :P

Was in Newbridge last night and a fight broke out and one of the lads got his passenger door kicked. and it was almost about to turn into a blood bath. cause maybe there was one or two items on a person that could have done serious harm. but it told me that i dont do fights and in any situation i would be useless im a comforter and helper. but i can only help when someone tells me what they need.

(Not that you wouldn't, this is just what was said to me last year before some of my telephone interviews) take it just as serious as a real interview, have your CV on hand to refer to, have a glass of water handy, dress well and sit up straight to regulate your breathing and help with your voice :)

    Good luck!

The water is a good shout actually. I was debating whether it'd look bad to be drinking in the middle of it or not.

And as for dressing, I'm gonna be the classy guy in a suit on campus on Thursday. :pac:

What makes it better is that I've a midterm later that day, so I'll be sitting a test in a full ****ing suit. Something about that image amuses me.
