We should now be in a position though to buy quality players next year because we won't need to add much to our squad.

swanseas home league form has been pretty poor, not only the spanking Man U dished out, wasn't fantastic at the end of last season either.

It also cant be overstated how bad sunderland have been lately under diCanio. Absolute manure.

I seriously see 6 points there.

More to the point this Liverpool side with the confidence they have right now, probably see 6 points there too.

Reading were pretty shocking last season as well, that didn't help us much when we played them though.

My thoughts too, and tbh, I think it should be demanded of FSG to do so.

No point putting in the work of the last two windows and not go out and capitalise on it in the next few.

Getting about a 60% success rate is doing very, very well. You'll get Borini's and Assaidi's.

Allen, Borini, Assaidi, Sturridge and Coutinho, not there yet at all. Summer signings are way too early to tell, but look pretty decent.

very excited to see moses make his debut against swansea. agger and skrtel played well enough to start so i dont think we will see sakho then

I do agree but I'd find it very hard to leave out a fit Toure. Big decisions ahead for Rodgers in the defense and where to play Suarez when eligible, I'd probably slot him in instead of Aspas.

You know it's a good free transfer when you find it hard to drop him, despite having a 23 year old "marquee" french international, and a chap Barca just tried to sign.

Toure and Moses could really end up being shrewd business from the bargain bin.

not a bad window in the end
some good players in and some not so good out
no injuries over the next 2 weeks would be nice

    any word on Glen?

Suarez coming back should be interesting.
It will be like a new signing as i can see him being hungry to make a statement.
He will have played a couple of games for the national side so won't be as rusty as if missed all preseason

    i'd take 5 wins from the next 6 i know it's a little ambitious but it's gettable.
that would put us on 24 points a target we didn't hit till must have been the end of December last season!

@ Paulegend, please stop posting drivel in the Arsenal thread especially regarding Ozil. Cringe worthy stuff.

Last thread ended on page 666, always thought Rodgers had a bit of a "please to meet you won't you guess my name" kind of vibe about him

Top of the league ;) (note winky smiley face)

    wtf you on about???

    cringe worthy stuff??

you are either really young or just are blinded by your not wanting to agree with someone else's opinion that isnt of the norm

as i said a billion times. i think Ozil is a great signing and a great player. i think he will go on to be player of the year material. i do think he will be a success.

but i also said that better players have failed to live up to their name. Kaka Shevechenko Torres Ronaldinho and Etoo(their moves to italy. albeit etoo second season was impressive). you also had veron Wiltord Aquillini Cissee. all players who came with huge names to their clubs and failed to live up to the hype

i was told that a player that plays for the worlds biggest club(arguablly) and plays for teh german national team cant fail

i said Kaka played for one of the biggest teams in europe and the brazilian nationla team and he failed at madrid. to the degree he left on a free transfer yesterday.......................

how is what im saying in any way cringeworthy or stupid??? to disagree with me your doing it for the sake of it!!!! im merely pointing out the fact that big transfers dont always "HAVE to work out"

You know you spelt 3 of those 8 players wrong. This is not a good start when trying to get people on board with your arguments.

Also, if this is about Ozil, keep it in the Arsenal thread please.

you speak the truth my friend. Big name transfers can fail. Veron didn't pull up too many trees at Utd. Crespo ditto chelsea. Kaka. etc etc

However.....lol.....Mesut Ozil being a MASSIVE success at Arsenal is the football equivalent of Ireland being shafted by the IMF. Certain to happen! He's too good, too suited to their style, to fail.

Also thought it was mildly LOL that Utd fans broke boards last night. In an accidental Denial of Service attack, posting so much. Had a little chuckle, sums up their lack of creative options in midfield!!

ok first of all who cares if i spelt 3 of them wrong??

nobody in the world can spell shevshenko without the power of google and since i couldnt be arsed as the spelling isnt related to the arguement(plus teh fact im on the phone so cant as easily jump back and forward from google):o...................... people mis-spell simpilar words on here and their point isnt regarded as drivel just because someone doesnt like what they say

people just attacked what i said and told me im talking sh#t. now i get that arsenal fans want to be happy about the signing and they should be im not taking away from that. i was in a conversation with one lad saying that yes he is a class player and i hope it works out.............. then it developed into a full blown warzone where people on here start calling me on it

also it is about zil but the reason im mentioning it on here is because

Nuri Sahin - @ Paulegend, please stop posting drivel in the Arsenal thread especially regarding Ozil. Cringe worthy stuff.

surely i have the right to retort to someone trying to talk down to me and look like the big man.

seems to be this on going group mentality on here these days

Was thinking about this on the way in and our now almost embarresment of riches at CB.

Wouldnt be unhappy with this (makes the 5m he cost me in FF look better as well!)

I was gonna pop into the Arsenal thread and congratulate them on Ozil, but between some of them targeting Suarez in January, and the others spitting bile at Liverpool thanks to Paulegend, I'll leave them to it.

I think Everton are stronger than they were yesterday. I think Fellaini has a LOT on his shoulders at United. Newcastle and West Brom look bunched. I fancy Hull to stay up.

Can't wait to see Borini getting a few starts under the new Sunderland 'regime' and hope he's enjoying his last bit of ketchup and ice tonight.

But more importantly, I think we're in much better shape to make it to January still knocking around the top of the table. Good fixture list and a belief running through the squad, I'm happier than I was a month ago.

i agree ive said it a hundred times i think he is a class signing. id have him here in a heartbeat but we couldnt afford nor attract a player like that just yet. if they can afford to even buy one world class player a year they will be unstoppable in a couple of years. i think if he can hit the ground running they will be title contenders this year. hopefully he will be out injured or something in our game:D

im purely saying that there will be pressure on him to succeed. most world class players can handle pressure and im sure he will. he seems to play with the fast tempo in his style anyway so im sure he'll do great. but we could easily be sitting here this time next year saying that we should go in for him because he only had a bad season as he was played out of position or there was too much pressure on him or any number of reasons. but thats all speculative

lol indeed at the utd fans though. i do think fellani will be a great signing aswell though to be fair. he will certainly fill the hole in the center but it doesnt sort out the giggs factor. unless moyes is going to start playing kagawa then they still have alot of work to do

"Kop on". Very good. Do you use that in other threads, too?

I'm a bit conflicted on Borini's loan to Sunderland. On the one hand, slumming it in a relegation battle could do the world of good for him.

On the other hand, I have absolutely no time for Di Canio, and going by his antics post match on Saturday he could end up completely ruining the player.

What's interesting is that we already associate Rodgers with playing the ball high up the pitch looking to press and attack, yet at a glance you'd probably be forgiven if you thought that the team was built more to defend and counter punch.

I don't think Borini will ever play another game for Liverpool, so I wouldn't worry about it much either way.
