My friend in UCD is studying Law too and has picked two modules from outside his course to study also, is that an option in NUIM? :)

Nope, not for outside of your course. That's only the UCD Horizons programme afaik. You may have some choices within your course but I don't think that law does.

I don't see why people would want to take modules outside of their chosen course anyway, UCD is far too complicated in my opinion, you just end up with a load of credits that are admissable if you want to go for a HDip, MSc that requires a certain number of credits

I like the idea. Sometimes it's good to have something different to add to your basic degree. It's why I enjoy my combined degree. I'm also lucky that I have found ways to take history electives that compliment law.

UCD have been running Horizons for a long time (even back in my mother's day!) So it must be doing something right!

Horizons is brilliant. The concept was floated to one of the NUIM faculties a couple of years ago too.
