For me , it has to be Axl Rose.Yes he was mental but his eccentricities made him one of the best lead singers and entertainers ever .
Any other performers worthy of the title??

Josh Homme seems to fill the role pretty well, one of the genuine great modern frontmen.

Are people just naming their favourite singers here or wha?

OK I can do that too.

Geddy Lee, most distinctive voice ever.

I liked Liam Gallagher when Oasis came out first. Had the voice, the attitude, the rock and roll lifestyle and the presence...but its hard to argue with Freddie Mercury.

When I was a kid I thought Iggy Pop and Ziggy Stardust were the same person, and David Bowie was an alien.

Dave Gilmour is another great frontman, I'm sure Roger Waters would agree with me.:pac:

Bruce Springsteen, if you want to count him as front man of the E Street Band.

Phil Lynott, never saw him live but those who did swore by him.

Rory Gallagher, had an amazing presence on stage, a true master with a huge amount of respect.

Shane McGowan always had a certain presence as well, always gave a great show in fairness.
