Life may have started on Mars before arriving on Earth, a major scientific conference has heard.

New research supports an idea that the Red Planet was a better place to kick-start biology billions of years ago than the early Earth was.

...so on the 6th day god bombarded earth with meteors....
    :pac:

Few hundred years from now you'll likely have many religious types claiming Mars was the Garden of eden and when those silly human's sinned they were kicked out and sent to earth, likely due for a bible rewrite at that stage too to make it "fact".

If you start writing the book now, you could make gazillions.

Ah but god made Mars and therefore it doesn't matter where the garden of eden is/was/should be because you know....Jeebus and stuff:confused:

Mars was already a Roman god long before Mr. J. Christ won X-Factor.

Threads been open nearly 3 hours and no creationists have dropped in to refute anything:eek: Must be finding it harder to explain how the bible ties into these findings:D

Is Mars even mentioned in the Bible?

If so is it clear whether the reference is to a)Roman god of war, b) A relatively close planet or c) Confectionery consisting of chocolate-malt nougat topped with a layer of caramel and covered with milk
    chocolate?

    Yeah, that's what I thought.
Mind you a passage saying something like

'And then the Lord our God did share Mars with Mars while contemplating Mars and yea it was pleasing on to him' is open to widely different interpretations...

Curious. Still has to account for how life got to Earth from Mars. Volcanoes don't really eject rocks fast enough to get out of the gravity well. Maybe something crashed into Mars and flaked pieces off? I seem to recall people suggesting something similar happened our moon. There's an asteroid belt full of giant rocks that might be able to do the trick. You'd expect something that big to leave geological evidence though, like that continent-sized crater in South America where something hit so hard it caused volcanoes to erupt on the other side of the planet.

Gravity on Mars is 38% that of Earth, maybe it'd be a little easier for things to go flying off of it.

Isn't it still mental unlikely that'd find its way to Earth? Even if whatever organic material was able to survive whatever event launched it/ travel through space?

You're forgetting the obvious answer. It. Was. A. Miracle.

    Obviously.

I suppose it depends on how much of it there was. This would be lie on a microscopic level and if it lived deep inside the rock it could i suppose survive the rigors of space travel and the eventual crash to earth which would have released it.

    But yet it happens

That's awesome and all (really is, how amazing is that?), and proves the material could possibly survive the trip, but it's still got to get from Mars to Earth without a bunch of humans guiding it, if I was a certain creationist I'd probably say that makes the chances of it happening roughly 1,000,000,234,459.864/1. :)

    But thats happened too

Ok, their fossils but its not a massive leap between the two to show that it could likely happen

But where did they come from before they landed on Mars??

There must be room back along the trail for some biblical magic

    Yes.
I think Master Jedi, H. Ghost, has a sufficent amount of midi-chlorians to easily perform such feats.

Can you guys stop questioning the bible using logic? Some Christian might see it and feel oppressed and claim your attacking religious freedomz.
