    Hello I made this account just to inquire to this post.
    I am 26, started playing golf 4-5 years ago and 2 years ago got really serious about the game. So 2 years ago I was around a 12 Handicap Off the tee was pretty pathetic approach shots has always been decent for me, short game was a joke. So last year I started playing golf everyday as I am fortunate enough to be in a situation were I am able too. First I improved my long game, tiger may say to start with the short game but if you're an average golfer and you can not hit the big dog or the fairway the game becomes work. Like I stated earlier I have always been good with irons long to scoring wedges so I just practice those as I go along. Now I am working on my short game pitching, chipping, putting etc.
    In 2 years I have gone from a 12 to scratch, My average round here lately has been 8-12 Fir's, 14-16 Gir's, Usually get up and in, around 29-34 putts per round.
    I am currently working on becoming an average subpar golfer as you can see I am working on my putting =P, I hit the driver around 280 yards on average 2yrs ago I could barely hit it 250.

    So to sum up this post, I would like to suggest to you sir. If you have the dream, the mindset, and a little bit of crazy anything is possible and I wish the best for you. Here is my everyday schedule and yes it is monday thru sunday.
    Wake up around 7 am workout and stretch till 10am go to the range from 11am to 2pm hit the golf course from 2pm till dark.
    Just to stay sane I do take off sometimes but I am very driven to improve my life and my goals. I do not believe in the hype of YOU CAN NOT! If your hand eye coordination stinks work on it. If you are not as flexible work on it. If you are not a scratch golfer WORK ON IT! The more you practice the luckier you get. How do I pay for all of this well I give lessons, but mostly play golf tournaments/ money games.

    @easttxgolfer

    Is it still enjoyable doing what you do?

    I don't think a top pro is even playing the game or working on their game as much as that.

    That's pretty extreme.

    @big_drive
    no I live in texas, us.

    @ForeRight
    I understand my schedule is on the extreme, but I truly love being on the golf course, hitting that sweet spot is my high.
    I do love to dream and have big dreams but I am also a realist I understand to become a top touring pro I should have started younger but people like tommy gainey give me some hope. ATM I love mini tour events and local scramble's/individual tourney's. I feel lucky because were I live there is a lot of oilfield money and I can get by on money games and lessons but it really isn't about the money for me I just truly love the game.

    @ajcurry123
    today I have a money game at 1pm its 10 am here I don't practice on my money game days, I like to go out hit a few on the range then tee off. I have found out getting in the right mindset it important for competition golf.

    @Op
    my main message was do what makes you happy but give it 100%

    "Money games" in Ireland are usually €2 on each nine and €2 overall. You'd never last over here :)

    Ya that would not work lol, I generally play in a 20/10 game 20$ bets 10$ birdies with a 2up press and a 1up press on 9 and 18. it is a confusing money game lol.

    A scratch handicap in the US? You'd probably be good enough for junior scratch level in Congu-land.
