Insulating bathroom walls and tiling them then

    As the title says, I'm going to do some work on my bathroom. I'm hoping to insulate the external walls internally.

    I don't want to have the hassle of putting up insulated plasterboards, skimming them and tiling then.

    My plan is to use 60mm rigid foil backed boards and tile the walls afterwards. I obviously can't tile onto the rigid insulation boards so I'm thinking of mechanically fixing the boards and sheets of plywood onto the walls and then tiling onto the plywood.

    Any advice or suggestions?

    Why can't you tile onto the insulated plasterboard?

    Because when the tiles may have to be removed or replaced years down the line, chunks of plasterboard will come away with the tiles.

    Happened to me in my last house.

    It seems a bit daft to me to have to go to the expense of skimming the plasterboard when it'll be covered up.

    It'd be much cheaper and cleaner to go the plywood route.

    Has anyone here done anything similar?
