Realies. Do you have a smart phone?

There is an app that Un blocks them. I think it may be a glitch in the app though and I don't want them to patch the glitch, so pm me if you're interested.

What's the worst that could happen? You're not going to get mugged over the phone.

This always baffles me. Why not answer the phone? My grand dad told me when he was a boy the phone rang and it was answered. Weird concept nowadays.

The bad people on the phone aren't going to beat you over the head with a hammer. A lot of office phone systems go through an exchange so come up as private.

I stopped answering them for a while when I went a bit nutty with a credit card my bank sent me in my last month at college.

kinda just put everything on the back burner and thought ah sure it'll be grand. Kept getting calls from them and kept ignoring them.

Oh boy was I wrong. All sorted now though thankfully although the odd time a private number calls i still check the time to see if its still "business times".

Where's that fiver you owe me? Answer your phone!

I suppose if someone has something to hide or is avoiding someone it is fair enough to not answer the phone.

Are you really that scared of answering the phone?

Probably won't know who rang you then if you do ring back.

Wait.... I owe you? But I was the guy that paid for the Donkey.

I never answer private phone calls. I actually suffer a minor panic attack when I see an incoming private call. Never answer them, NEVER! Nothing good can come out of answering a private call, they put their number on private for a reason.....

Although, my uncle has a habit of putting his phone on private, annoys the **** out of me and then he gives out to me for not answering. >.<

I am. I really hate answering the phone and if the number is withheld, I ain't picking that sh*t up.

Would you answer a number you didn't know?

I rarely every use my phone for talking, I spend 8hrs a day on the phone so the hell with doing it on my spare time as well, text, facebook, email, twitter etc are how I'd contact my friends and vice versa, only people I ring are my parents the odd time as they live abroad.

    Exactly.

My flatmate never answers private numbers but will then spend an hour agonising over who was trying to call her.

Jesus, just answer the phone. You won't get caught in the sequel to Phonebooth..

I REALLY hate answering the phone, so I probably wouldn't answer/haven't answered in the past. I would wait for them to leave a voice message to see who it was. If they didn't leave a voice message, it can't be that important.

important enough to be discussing them...

People managed without knowing who was on the other end of the phone for many, many years.

Just answer the fúcking phone. Who do you think you are, "The Jackal"?

???? I'm confused I just answered the question I was asked. I won't answer numbers I don't know, I wait for them to leave a voice message, if they don't, oh well. What's your point?? The phone calls are important because I'm talking about them on boards????

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 145 ✭✭vex

Been getting this a lot the last few days thought it could be important, but when i answered i could hear ringing as if i made a call to someone  so I hung up

I don't answer unknown numbers, if its something important they will leave a voice mail.

What would you lot have done before mobile phones and on-screen displays? Just sit in the corner cowering and glaring at the ringing phone.

...while whining and wetting themselves. Jesus, are people really that scared of answering the phone and talking to a potential stranger?

My phone doesn't know it's number. I've even had the sim card replaced, and its been happening to me for years with different phones. It's unable to display it at all.
